Uchiha Hikaru and the Second Prince arrived at the Village Chief's home together. They had come here so many times already that they had lost count.
After all, they mainly hoped he could help them, so they knocked on the door. Yet it seemed the Village Chief was not inside. Otherwise, he would surely have opened it himself.
"Do you remember how the Village Chief used to open the door? He always sensed the flow of energy from the two of us, which was why he could open it so promptly," the Second Prince said. He felt certain that the Village Chief was not inside.
Sure enough, after they had knocked for quite some time, they still could not find the Village Chief anywhere. There was nothing they could do but feel helpless.
"Without the Village Chief's permission, I'm afraid we can't enter this village. Looks like we made this trip for nothing again." Uchiha Hikaru spread his hands, and a stone unexpectedly fell out.
This was the stone they had obtained before, as well as the pass the First Prince had given them. As long as they carried these two stones, they could go anywhere in the country without being obstructed by anyone.
More importantly, they could act first and explain later. That meant they could enter first, then show the stones when someone came to inspect them, and those people would surely be reassured.
As long as they wanted to keep getting by in this country, they had to accept such tests. If someone stopped them, that person would inevitably bring about a fatal disaster.
Everyone was reasonable and capable of distinguishing right from wrong. If a mistake was made, the consequences would not be something they could bear.
