"Why use ninja?"
Gua looked at Orochimaru curiously.
Orochimaru was puzzled. "Didn't you say I needed a refrigerated room so I could conduct my experiments inside? Is that wrong, Gua-kun?"
Gua: ...
That did seem fair enough.
Gua decided not to say anything more.
He had a mountain of treasure called nine years of compulsory education at his disposal, yet he didn't want to say another word to Orochimaru.
For once in his life, he had experienced what it felt like for a top student to look at a struggling student.
The top student said, "When you eat grapes, spit out the skins."
The struggling student asked, "What about the seeds?"
The top student answered, "Spit those out too."
And so the struggling student spat out the entire grape in his mouth.
Gua was a little speechless.
He just wanted to leave this hellhole as soon as possible. His mom was still waiting for him to come home for dinner.
Seeing that he couldn't pry another word out of Gua, Orochimaru sighed inwardly.
Ah...
Knowledge really is precious. It looks like I need to treat Gua-kun with even greater courtesy.
If Gua is touched enough to bestow a few words of wisdom on me, it'll be worth it.
"Gua, let me see you out."
Orochimaru didn't insist that Gua stay. They were kindred spirits, so why would he force him?
Gua got ready to leave.
As he passed through Orochimaru's laboratory, the white light reflected off a metal lab table caught his attention, making him pause.
Gua raised his head and looked overhead.
"What's wrong, Gua?"
Orochimaru also looked up at the rows of incandescent lights above them and asked curiously.
Gua said, "Nothing."
Holy shit!
I thought you didn't have electricity!
Turns out you fucking had it all along!
