History

Arrest and Public Tribunal

Orochimaru initially follows Gua while deflecting Fugaku’s suspicions by demanding evidence. He later attempts to obtain the child’s blood, explaining that he wants to investigate Uchiha biology and considers young blood more active than adult blood 22 26.

After Fugaku rescues Gua, the Uchiha bring the incident directly to Hiruzen. The ensuing investigation exposes Orochimaru’s captive shinobi and experiments. At this stage, his research involves blood collection and tissue sampling rather than the more extreme experimentation Gua associates with his original-story counterpart 27 34.

Laboratory Destruction and Later Research

Akatsuki considers Orochimaru a traitor. Obito infiltrates Konoha to recover the funding and confronts him in his laboratory. An accidental chemical reaction during the intrusion destroys the facility and badly injures Obito. Orochimaru survives and demands that Hiruzen capture the attacker 149 152 153.
