The weakened Sarada raised her head slightly and looked at the furious Sasuke, explaining softly in a hoarse, feeble voice:
"They didn't abuse me... they just locked me up and never gave me anything to eat. I'm just a little hungry."
Those few words instantly made the anger in Sasuke's heart impossible to contain.
Without another word, he took out the rations and water he had prepared and quickly handed them to Sarada so she could regain her strength.
Watching the frail Sarada eagerly accept the food, Sasuke turned back to Lucci and Kalifa, his gaze icy and full of contempt.
"So this is all the lofty Celestial Dragons amount to, despite claiming to be descendants of gods."
They took an opponent captive, yet couldn't spare so much as a bite of food.
Faced with Sasuke's mockery, Lucci remained composed. He gave a slight shrug and spoke unhurriedly, silencing Sasuke with a single remark.
"Indra was proud to his very core. His descendants should be no different."
"Even if we offered her food, as our captive, she would never eat anything from her enemies. She would rather die than yield."
"So we didn't waste the effort."
Sasuke froze, his mouth slightly open. He wanted to argue, but found he had no idea where to begin.
For a moment, Sasuke was left speechless, all his fury forcibly bottled up in his chest.
Meanwhile, Sarada, who was clutching her rations and wolfing them down to sate her hunger, briefly paused at Lucci's words.
With food still stuffed in her mouth, she raised her head and gave Lucci a quiet look with her clear, exhausted eyes.
How do you know I wouldn't eat it if you never offered any!
*Did that Indra guy really leave such a deep impression on you Celestial Dragons
