As long as Wu Jie was safe, Wu Meng would be the perfect helper.
Chu Sheng already had a procedure worked out in his mind.
With that thought, Chu Sheng stood up and headed outside with Xingzi.
When he reached the door, he saw Wu Meng and Wu Jie hovering there, wanting to knock but not quite daring to.
His face remained largely expressionless as he walked toward them.
At the sight of Chu Sheng, Wu Jie swallowed. But after glancing at his sister beside him, he forced himself to stand his ground despite his fear.
Wu Meng was not as frightened as he was. Instead, she pressed her lips together, looked at Chu Sheng, and said, "Brother Chu, I..."
Before she could finish, Chu Sheng waved a hand. "I know what you're here for."
He held out his hand and continued, "Give me that sacrificial item."
Wu Meng froze for a moment, then understood. She took the sacrificial saber from Wu Jie and handed it to Chu Sheng.
After accepting the sacrificial saber, Chu Sheng did not immediately turn it into a farming tool. Instead, he looked at Wu Meng and said, "Turning a sacrificial item into a farming tool doesn't exactly count as forging one from scratch, since it doesn't require supernatural materials."
"But I still charge for it."
A troubled look crossed Wu Meng's face. Still, she knew that since Chu Sheng understood what she wanted, had agreed to see her, and had even accepted the sacrificial saber, he would most likely help her modify it.
"Brother Chu, we don't have any supernatural materials right now. Could we pay through our rent?"
Chu Sheng watched her with an ambiguous smile, saying nothing.
Wu Meng swallowed, looking at him uneasily. She did not even dare meet his eyes
