He woke from a dream at midnight.
Finding that the person he had once relied on was long gone from his side, Sasuke could not help remembering how he had curled up alone in a corner, sobbing on the Night of the Massacre.

Amid quiet sobs, loneliness, and regret, Sasuke gradually fell asleep.
But shortly after he drifted off, Sasuke heard Little Impure Choman's warning cries.
Although Sasuke had asked Naruto about Little Impure's origins many times, Naruto had always brushed him off.
Still, Sasuke had heard Naruto say more than once that Little Impure was the lookout guarding the Uchiha Clan Compound.
Now, with Little Impure chirping in the distance, Sasuke abruptly rose and flashed into a dark corner of the room.

Sasuke grabbed his ninja tool pouch and reached the rooftop in a few swift bounds.
On the roof, Sasuke held a kunai and warily scanned his surroundings.
Yet a full sweep revealed nothing unusual.
But Little Impure's disappearance meant the bird might have been killed or captured.
"You came uninvited, and now you don't dare show yourselves?"
Sasuke's cool voice echoed through the surroundings.
Before his words had faded, however, four cold gusts swept across the edges of the roof.
In an instant, four dark figures had surrounded Sasuke on the rooftop.
"Who are you?"
Their speed startled Sasuke slightly, but this was his home, his own battlefield. He had nothing to fear.
Just then, an impatient girl's voice sneered, "I really don't see what's so special about you. How did you even get the Cursed Seal of Heaven?"
"I'm curious too. He's just a brat."
"Heh heh..."
