"How could this happen? This can't be true..." Uchiha Itachi took a step back and murmured, tears welling in his eyes.
"This is just too hard to accept." Kisame sighed as well.
"Older Brother Naruto..." Haku could already picture Naruto and Sasuke's future, and tears filled Haku's eyes.
"How could this happen..."
Everyone was shocked and dejected by the news.
Only Snake Aunt looked disdainful. "Others might feel crushed by this news and struggle to face it, but Sixth Brother won't."
Sure enough, even Sasuke had tears in his eyes.
He pulled his hand free of Naruto's grip and said in a trembling voice, "We're actually siblings? Naruto, tell me it isn't true... it isn't true."
Even Naruto was speechless.
He grabbed Sasuke's hand. "There's actually no blood relation between us. You know that. Since we aren't related by blood, why can't we be together?"
"Sasuke, I've never lied to you about anything, and I would never lie to you about this."
Naruto looked utterly confident, his eyes shining with the power of knowledge.
"Yes, I believe you, Naruto."
Instead of getting angry, Naruto turned toward Snake Aunt.
"Snake Aunt, explain the distinctions between blood relationships to them. How does an inherited destiny make us siblings? People actually believe something with absolutely no scientific basis. I don't even know what to say."
Snake Aunt smiled. This outcome was much as she had expected.
"To put it simply."
Snake Aunt stepped forward to face everyone, including Hashirama and Madara. "Even within the same clan, people can marry as long as they're more than five generations removed. Not to mention that Naruto belongs to the Uzumaki Clan while Sasuke belongs to the Uchiha Clan. There's nothing wrong with their union."
