When Madara first heard those words, she thought they were laughable.
But now, with her younger sister and all the Uchiha descendants revived, even Madara was moved when Naruto asked her again.
"Aren't you afraid I'll continue with my plan?"
Naruto gave a wry smile. "I don't think you will. Uncle Hashirama told us, and we all saw your memories. Deep down, you care about him a lot. Now the two of you can be together without any burdens and fulfill the promise you made back then."
Hashirama Senju froze at those words.
So did Madara.
The two exchanged a look, neither saying a word.
Naruto had spoken exactly what was in their hearts.
If Naruto had not said it, they probably would not have gotten back together, even after obtaining new physical bodies.
After all, they had been through far too much, from meeting as children to growing up and founding Konoha.
Unless someone took the initiative to break through that barrier for them, they could never overcome it themselves.
Clearly, the old saying was true: a dying man's words came from the heart.
What was more, Naruto had paid with his own life to revive Madara's younger sister, Izuna. He had also exposed Black Zetsu's scheme here, showing Madara that she had been nothing more than someone else's pawn.
Seeing them exchange looks without speaking, Naruto continued, "I'm about to die. Madara, Uncle Hashirama... could you make up and fulfill the promise you made back then... so a dying man like me can see a brighter future for the Shinobi World?"
Everyone around them looked bewildered at those words.
Even Sasuke was utterly confused.
From what he knew of Naruto, Naruto could not possibly be that close to Hashirama Senju or Madara Uchiha.
