Naruto defeated Itachi, kept him alive for Sasuke, and returned to the Land of Waves before traveling to Orochimaru’s base. There he reunited with Sasuke, then the two returned to Konoha as Naruto prepared allies and civilians for the coming destruction.

• Naruto defeated Itachi’s Susanoo with Wood Release, rejected Itachi’s request to remove Sasuke’s Cursed Seal, and treated him so he could live until Sasuke confronted him.
• Naruto strengthened the Land of Waves’ defenses, said goodbye to Haku, and killed twelve Root Jonin who were heading toward the country.
• Sasuke read Naruto’s hidden letter after Snake Aunt broke his bracelet, learned why Naruto had faked his death, and continued toward Orochimaru’s research base.
• Naruto reunited with Snake Aunt, and Sasuke recruited Suigetsu, Karin, and Jūgo before Orochimaru arranged a masked opponent for his final test.
• Naruto revealed himself during the fight, and he and Sasuke embraced, explained their past, and promised that nothing would separate them again.
• Sasuke formed Team Hawk with Naruto, Karin, Suigetsu, and Jūgo, and they traveled to the Uchiha Clan Compound in Konoha.
• Naruto warned Ichiraku and Hongle that Konoha would be destroyed and arranged for eleven young ninja to leave for the Land of Waves under the cooking competition’s cover.

Naruto rescued Sasuke after his battle with Itachi, gathered allies and resources in the Land of Waves, and revealed his plan to preserve Konoha’s clans while letting the village fall. The arc ended as Pain’s Paths attacked Konoha and Yahiko confronted Hiruzen.

• Naruto helped Sasuke face Itachi, then saved both Sasuke and Itachi’s body from Obito and took them to the Genesis World.
• Naruto stole 12,000 White Zetsu, arranged Itachi’s burial and Sasuke’s eye transplant, and recruited Deidara to the Land of Waves.
• Naruto and Sasuke reunited, rebuilt the Uchiha Clan Compound in the Genesis World, and grew closer with Haku’s help.
• Naruto enhanced his eyes and learned Sage Mode while Kakashi and Guy brought the final cooking competition escort group to the Land of Waves.

After Konoha’s destruction, Naruto and Sasuke resurrected the Uchiha and gathered allies while Naruto built a new power in the Land of Fire. Naruto trapped the invading alliance in his genjutsu and began negotiating reparations, leaving its leaders demanding to know who he and Sasuke were.

• Pain devastated Konoha after Naruto’s capture, while Kabuto sent reincarnated Kage to slaughter survivors and Naruto and Sasuke set out to confront Danzo.
• Danzo admitted that he and Hiruzen had arranged the Uchiha massacre, and Sasuke attacked him as Naruto battled Root and Kabuto’s forces.
• Naruto awakened the Rinnegan, rejected Pain’s invitation to join the Akatsuki, and returned with Sasuke to the Land of Waves after Konoha’s destruction.
• Naruto resurrected thousands of Uchiha, including Fugaku and Mikoto, and began bringing back other former Konoha residents as Sasuke struggled to face his parents.
• Naruto reunited with Kakashi, Guy, and the Konoha 12, then persuaded Jiraiya and Tsunade to support his plan to preserve the Land of Fire.

Naruto established the Land of Shadow as a refuge with new laws and technology, then faced the Akatsuki’s invasion and the Fourth Shinobi World War. After Naruto revealed how Black Zetsu had manipulated Madara, Madara turned against Black Zetsu and Obito.

• Naruto persuaded the Four Great Nations’ representatives to withdraw by offering settlement in the Land of Shadow, then laid out plans for land nationalization, housing, and free education.
• Naruto built up the Land of Shadow, welcomed Kisame and Kakuzu as citizens, revived Itachi, and gave Deidara responsibility for its defenses.
• When Obito’s White Zetsu army invaded, Naruto and Deidara used missiles to devastate its ranks, and Naruto rallied the Land of Shadow’s citizens.
• Obito’s forces attacked across the Shinobi World, Jiraiya died in battle, and Naruto led the Land of Shadow’s forces against Obito and the reanimated Jinchūriki.
• Naruto absorbed the Tailed Beasts’ chakra and confronted Obito, while Black Zetsu helped bring Madara back to life and Obito summoned the Ten-Tails.
• Madara and Hashirama revealed their past and warned that Naruto and Sasuke were reincarnations of Asura and Indra, but Naruto and Sasuke rejected the idea that it made them siblings.
• Naruto pulled the battlefield into the Illusory Destruction World, where Hashirama tried to reconcile with Madara and Naruto replayed her memories.
• The replay exposed Black Zetsu’s origins and his manipulation of Madara, who vowed to kill Black Zetsu and Obito before Naruto asked what she would do afterward.
