Loki asked casually, and Algrim made no attempt to hide anything. "To find the sacred relic of the Dark Elves, the Aether."
"When the Dark Elves retreated all those years ago, our sacred relic was left behind in Asgard. We have no idea where Odin sealed it."
"So let's find someone to ask first."
At those words, a ripple stirred in Loki's calm heart. He then feigned indifference. "Oh, the Aether? I think I know where it is."
Algrim, who had been heading outside, stopped in his tracks and turned to Loki, his face brimming with excitement.
"You know!"
"Where is it? Tell me!"
He stared at Loki, excitement filling his voice.
He had searched high and low in vain, only to stumble upon the answer without lifting a finger. Though he had never heard that saying, it perfectly captured how he felt.
A trace of amusement flashed through Loki's eyes as he watched him.
Things were going even more smoothly than he had imagined.
Whether revealing the location of the protective device or asking what Algrim intended to do next, everything had been part of Loki's calculations.
Revealing the location had earned his trust. Drawing out his objective and then offering a lead would make him think he was the one directing everything.
That way, Loki could minimize any suspicion toward himself.
Otherwise, if Loki had brought it up himself, Algrim would undoubtedly have raised the guard he had only just lowered.
