Loki and Algrim were both formidable, and traveling at full speed, they soon reached the border battlefield.
With the Bifrost, Asgard's only passage, now closed, the border battlefield was the only way out.
Although Loki knew of a secret path out of Asgard, it led straight to the Blue Planet and was unsuitable for coming and going. Besides, he had no desire to reveal it to Algrim.
Looking at the war-torn battlefield and the gods constantly clashing with the Dark Elf priests in the sky, Loki instinctively swallowed. His voice was dry as he asked, "How do we get out?"
He was not putting on an act. The sight genuinely made his scalp prickle.
With so many powerful beings fighting, he had no confidence in making his way through them, even if he considered himself reasonably strong.
He even wondered whether the gods would concentrate their attacks on him the moment he appeared on the battlefield.
After all, no more than a handful of people knew about his plan with Thor, and his relationship with Asgard's gods was hardly good.
Loki truly feared that these fellows might strike him hard the moment they saw him with Algrim. He would never be able to withstand it.
When Loki turned to him, Algrim looked equally troubled.
According to the plan he had discussed with Malekith, he was supposed to sabotage Asgard from within and help the Dark Elves invade. No one had been assigned to escort him out.
But the Aether's sudden appearance had completely disrupted his plans. He had to get it out immediately, yet with no one coming to meet him, he could see few options in the scene before him.
