Hearing JARVIS's words, Tony wore a look of utter astonishment. What the hell, Sandman joined S.H.I.E.L.D.?

You've got to be kidding me.

He never expected that S.H.I.E.L.D. would actually steal a recruit from him, and that they would actually pull it off.

For a moment, his heart filled with gloom.

It looks like my appearance has finally started to cause the plot to change.

Silently thinking to himself, Tony swept the gloom from his mind.

Although having someone intercepted like this felt a bit annoying, he knew this was something bound to happen sooner or later.

After all, his own interference had turned the plot into a complete mess, so changes were inevitable.

He just hadn't expected Nick to have the guts to directly recruit a criminal.

Plus, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s recent moves were quite unusual as well, actually starting to recruit superhumans.

Although there was certainly a connection to the growing number of superhumans, Tony didn't believe for a second that there wasn't an element of targeting him in it.

The conflict between him and S.H.I.E.L.D. was now irreconcilable. While he held Stark Industries in his hands, making S.H.I.E.L.D. not dare to do anything to him...

Well, there was a good saying: the only constant in the world is change itself.

S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't dare make a move against him now, but what about in the future?

When S.H.I.E.L.D.'s power grew stronger and stronger, would they still be able to tolerate him?

And S.H.I.E.L.D. recruiting superhumans right now was a signal; they were strengthening their own power.

"Looks like it's time to find something for my little buddies to do."

Muttering to himself, Tony drove along JARVIS's navigation toward a certain bar.

Ever since he got his hands on twenty million dollars, Peter's life had completely changed.

Nights of endless indulgence couldn't even begin to describe it.

The once-good student and good boy had now become a regular at bars and nightclubs.

The guy who used to not even dare hold a girl's hand had completely turned into someone who changed women like clothes.

When Tony arrived at the bar, Peter was holding two girls in his arms, constantly grinding his body on the dance floor.

Watching the seductively dancing Peter, Tony raised an eyebrow, a smile curling the corner of his mouth.

Men with money go bad-truly a timeless truth.

Look at Peter. Such a good kid once, yet he still fell to the corruption of money.

Sighing inwardly, Tony walked onto the dance floor, placed a hand on Peter's shoulder, and dragged him out.

"Who's there?!"

Peter let out a loud shout, spinning around and throwing a punch behind him.

Tony raised a hand, instantly catching Peter's fist in his grip as his voice rang out at the same time.

"Haven't seen you in a few days, little Peter. You've grown some nerve."

Hearing the voice, Peter shrank his neck and quickly turned his head.

Upon seeing Tony, a ingratiating smile instantly appeared on his face.

"Mr. Stark, why are you here?"

"If you need anything, just give me a call. Why'd you have to run over in person?"

Peter held a natural fear toward Tony, especially after gaining a degree of control permissions over the Shadowkhan, making this fear even more intense.

Watching Peter's expression, Tony let go of his hand and smiled. "Got something to talk to you about. Come with me."

With that, Tony led Peter out of the bar and got into the car.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Peter asked in confusion, "Is there another mission, Mr. Stark?"

"Yes and no. This matter concerns you."

Hearing this, Peter wore a puzzled look, and Tony continued.

"Someone recently joined S.H.I.E.L.D. His name is Flint. He was imprisoned some time ago for robbery."

"At the time, he and his accomplice robbed a taxicab driver, resulting in that driver's death."

"That driver, I believe you know him: Ben Parker."

At this point, Tony stopped, and the eyes of Peter in the passenger seat had already turned bloodshot.

Everyone had regrets, and Peter's biggest regret was the death of his uncle.

Because of his own inaction, his uncle had fallen in a pool of blood. Because of this, every midnight his heart was filled with self-blame.

Fortunately, he had personally sent the murderer to prison, which served as his only comfort.

But now, learning from Tony's mouth that there were two people responsible for his uncle's death, and that one of them had gotten out of prison and joined S.H.I.E.L.D. with a bright future ahead of him, the anger buried deep in his heart instantly exploded!

"Where is he now?" Peter asked in a hoarse voice.

He didn't doubt the truth of Tony's words, instead asking directly for the murderer's location.

Hearing this, Tony gave him the location of the cafe.

Peter immediately got out of the car without a word and disappeared into the end of the street.

Watching his back, the corner of Tony's mouth also curved into a smile.

As the saying went: if they cannot be used by me, then they shall be destroyed by me.

Since he knew full well that S.H.I.E.L.D. was destined to become his enemy, how could Tony possibly watch S.H.I.E.L.D. grow continuously stronger?

Therefore, he ignited the anger in Peter's heart to help him cut off S.H.I.E.L.D.'s claws and teeth.

If it were the old Peter, he wouldn't necessarily kill someone even upon knowing this. But the present Peter was no longer that boy with innocent ideals.

To sum it up, he had matured and knew that in the adult world, only blood could bring revenge.

At the cafe, Nick and the other man walked out of the cafe, chatting amiably.

Nick was happy to have recruited a fierce warrior, while Flint was happy that his daughter's illness could finally be cured.

Both sides had achieved what they wanted in their hearts, so satisfied smiles hung on their faces.

Yet just as the two of them stepped out of the cafe, up in the sky across the street, a black dot rapidly enlarged. A figure dropped from the sky, kicking squarely into Flint, who had just walked out of the cafe.

Boom!

The glass door of the cafe shattered into pieces.

Flint's figure was sent flying like a cannonball.

Standing to the side, Nick watched this scene with a completely dazed expression, having failed to react at all.

The superhuman he had just recruited had just been drop-kicked away right in front of him.

Thinking somewhat stiffly, Nick turned his head to look at the newcomer.

When he saw the newcomer wearing a Spider Suit, Nick snapped out of it instantly and hurriedly called out, "Wait!"

He still thought Peter was here to uphold justice, since that was the persona he debuted with.

Although Peter had frequented bars and nightclubs lately, causing the world to gradually forget him, as the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick certainly wouldn't forget.

Yet Peter showed no intention of stopping at all. Completely ignoring Nick, his figure flashed as he charged into the cafe.

Soon, sounds of violent crashing rang out inside the cafe.

The cafe customers ran out one by one, screaming in terror.

Watching this scene, Nick's face filled with anxiety. He wanted to stop this fight, but his strength was alright compared to ordinary people yet far too inferior to a superhuman, so other than staring in frustration, there was simply nothing he could do.

Not far away, Tony sat in his car, watching Nick at the entrance of the cafe, a hint of a mocking smile appearing on his face.
