Just as Peter turned his attention to Scream and Mania, both women immediately sensed his gaze.
Their expressions changed at the same time. Before this, they would not have hesitated. Even with the Shadowkhan helping him, they had been confident they could take Peter down. After all, with two against one, their chances of winning were high.
But now, they hesitated. They had never expected the Shadowkhan to be able to destroy symbiotes outright.
That made the Shadowkhan a far greater threat to them, leaving them deeply wary. So when Peter looked their way, both women instantly realized what he was planning.
Without a moment's hesitation, both vanished from where they stood. Neither spared a thought for the symbiotes left behind. They were only a bunch of failures, anyway. If they were lost, so be it.
Peter had just been about to hold the two women off and use the Shadowkhan's power to kill them. Seeing this, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes.
He had never expected them to simply run away, let alone do it so decisively that they abandoned their own people.
The corner of Peter's mouth twitched, but there was nothing he could do.
Scream and Mania were no slower than he was. Even if he gave chase, he probably would not catch them. Besides, they had already caused quite a commotion today, and he had spotted S.H.I.E.L.D. agents arriving at the scene. He could only abandon the idea of keeping the two women there.
Working with the Shadowkhan, Peter swiftly wiped out the remaining symbiotes, then grabbed Eddie and quickly left the scene.
Only after both sides had departed did S.H.I.E.L.D.'s agents finally arrive and begin cleaning up the battlefield.
