Standing beside the monitor, Loki said, "Ebony Maw, the foremost of the five generals serving the cosmic overlord Thanos. On paper, he helps Thanos command all his armies. A lackey with some serious fighting power."
Nick Fury fell silent for a moment, then asked, "You mean they might send an army to attack Blue Star?"
The corners of Loki's mouth curled upward as he said disdainfully, "Thanos wouldn't dare. Even if he attacked Blue Star, it would be no more than a probing strike. He doesn't have the confidence to start a full-scale war!"
"Why? Didn't you say Thanos was some kind of cosmic overlord?" Tony raised an eyebrow and asked.
"Heh, it's just a title. Who out there in the universe doesn't give themselves some intimidating title? The Skrull Empire claimed to be one of the three great cosmic empires, too. Then Galactus paid them a visit and swallowed their entire homeworld. They didn't even have the shirts on their backs left," Loki scoffed.
Hearing Loki's assessment of the Skrulls, Nick Fury's interest stirred.
It sounds like the Skrulls' standing in the universe isn't all that high?
Nick Fury had two main sources of information about the universe: Captain Marvel and the remaining Skrulls.
Captain Marvel had no established connections in the wider universe. Claiming she could provide much information would be giving her far too much credit.
As for the Skrulls, there was even less to say. They were aliens. How could he trust them completely?
"Mr. Loki, could I ask you to question the gentleman who appears to have come from a parallel world?" Nick Fury politely invited Loki to interrogate his parallel counterpart.
"Oh?" Loki put on his signature wicked grin. "Aren't you afraid I'll try something?"
Nick Fury said nothing more and extended a hand
