"Why isn't the plan moving forward?"
Freddy had yet to appear, but his voice had already arrived.

Freddy sounded aggressive, his words dripping with distrust and impatience toward Ebony Maw. "You went to all that trouble setting up those so-called Teleportation Points and talked up the armies on the other side like they were something magnificent. So how did someone seal off more than a dozen Teleportation Points in one day? Looks like all our work was for nothing, doesn't it?"
"Freddy?" Shendu's electronically distorted voice came through the phone, complete with its own sound effects.
"Shendu?"

Freddy and Shendu weren't the only beings on the call. There were also a few Blue Star natives who had 'defected' to Ebony Maw.
The conversation left them rather confused.
"Where's Ebony Maw? Doesn't he even have time to answer a call anymore?"
Shendu gave a contemptuous laugh. "Freddy, I'm the mastermind behind this plan now. And I'm also the future king of Blue Star!"
"Hehehe." Freddy laughed without restraint. "Shendu? So you killed Ebony Maw? That idiot alien didn't know any better, but don't you? Kamar-Taj, the Foundation, the Knights, all those mythological cults-you're a stray dog without a home. What makes you think you can stand against them? Your big mouth? Of the eight demons, you're the only one still in the World of the Living. The other seven have all been sent back home to Hell, haven't they?"
"One correction." Shendu paid no mind to Freddy's mockery. "We're native-born inhabitants of Blue Star. No one can change that! And the plan can still proceed."
"The plan can proceed? If we follow Ebony Maw's plan, we have plenty of ways to respond."
