The guards and maids along the way all bowed and offered their greetings.
Yet most of them looked as though they had seen a ghost when they saw Fat Thor!
How had Asgard's eldest prince ended up looking like this?
He was so fat!
They even wondered whether Loki was playing tricks on them with his illusions again.
Fat Thor paid no attention to Rocket Raccoon's attempts to stop him. Instead, he told his mother his entire story, bit by bit.
"In the end, I aimed for Thanos's head, but what did it matter? Half of everyone was gone, Loki was dead, and..." Fat Thor poured himself a drink from the table like a raging alcoholic.
"How could it not matter? Since you decided to go back into the past and seek one last chance, you won't keep failing forever," Frigga comforted him.
"But..." Fat Thor wanted to say more.
Rocket Raccoon couldn't take it anymore!
"Uh... beautiful lady, we actually came to Asgard on a mission. We need the Reality Stone to save our world-the Aether, that is." Rocket Raccoon gave up trying to hide it too and stated their purpose outright.
"The Aether." Frigga said, "The Reality Stone is no longer in Asgard. A few days ago, your father gave it to Midgard's protector, the Sorcerer Supreme, as payment."
"What?" Fat Thor and Rocket Raccoon shot to their feet in alarm.
Had this world changed before they had even done anything?
Clearly, neither of them had yet realized that this world might differ from their own.
"Ha ha ha! Ha ha, ha ha!" Cheerful, loud, mocking laughter suddenly rang out from outside Frigga's sitting room.
