"Mr. Tony Stark, quite a few senators asked me to find out when you can deal with Freddy and this so-called Freak Alliance. Apparently, the people at the Pentagon are very unhappy about it," Smith asked cautiously as he stood beside Tony.
"If by unhappy you mean posting tweets nonstop all day, then yes, I noticed." Tony set down his tablet.
"...You really have a sense of humor, Mr. Stark. Hahaha."
What Smith had revealed stirred nothing in Tony, because he had no solution either. "As far as I know, Freddy is a member of the Foundation, isn't he? Haven't you asked the Foundation how to properly handle this?"
"Perhaps you could speak with Mr. Ah Xing from the Foundation?"
Smith looked at Tony, feeling utterly helpless.
Ever since Tony had joined the effort to implement the Superhuman Registration Act, Smith's family had lost all its influence.
Getting involved in the Superhuman Registration Act had been his family's last desperate gamble to begin with.
What sane person would want to wade into such a complicated mess and play mediator?
The polite name was the Registration Act Office. Less politely, it was a list of future casualties.
One day, some supercriminal might decide they were an eyesore and wipe them out.
Tony's involvement had greatly improved their safety, but it had also rendered them useless.
Yet the Smith family had no choice but to bow down. Their influence really was weaker than that of Stark Industries.
Seeing that Tony had no intention of getting involved in this mess, Smith tactfully excused himself and left.
Afterward, Tony turned on the television and simply stared blankly ahead.
Naturally, he had no interest in focusing on the television.
Ever since Freddy had announced the founding of the Freak Alliance, Tony had been somewhat stunned.
