Sylvie shouted reluctantly, "Retreat!"

The warriors of Asgard had no choice but to withdraw in an orderly fashion from the region of darkness and silence.

A crushing loss!

That was Sylvie's first thought.

Asgard had gained absolutely nothing from this campaign.

For Asgard, gaining nothing meant taking a loss.

Especially since Asgard had committed so many soldiers to the battlefield this time.

The military expenditure alone had been enormous.

When Sylvie led the army back through the spatial rift, she found Future Thor waiting right in front of her.

At first, Future Thor saw that the Asgardian army did not look particularly imposing.

He panicked for a moment. Had they actually failed to defeat those battered remnants of the Dark Elves?

Only after several of the commanding generals returned did Future Thor learn what had happened.

It turned out they had never encountered the supposed Dark Elf army at all.

Future Thor pieced together the information in his head and hurried to find Sylvie.

"Thor, what happened?" Seeing Future Thor in such a hurry, Sylvie thought something serious had happened.

Future Thor scratched his head and organized his thoughts.

"Nothing too serious happened. It's just that during the Nine-Star Alignment, many of the other nations of the Nine Realms intended to invade Blue Star and use it as a springboard to unify the Nine Realms."

Sylvie sneered. "Do those fools really think Father's absence gives them a chance to rule? They're nothing but a bunch of clowns. Have the Vanir made any moves?"

Honestly, of all the peoples of the Nine Realms, the Vanir were the ones Sylvie found hardest to read. They were also her mother's people.

Without a justification, it would be difficult to act against them.

And even if she did, victory was far from certain.
