"Shadow Clone is the GOAT!"
The clones Jiang Xiang created with his enhanced Shadow Clone had been keeping tabs on David and his son Xiao Wei, including their month-long journey of heroic deeds.
The enhanced Shadow Clone differed from the Special Incarnation Card, which supplied incarnations directly.
For now, incarnations created by a Special Incarnation Card could only possess the card's own abilities.
With the enhanced Shadow Clone technique, however, Jiang Xiang's original body could bestow abilities from different cards on his shadow clones.
Back to the matter at hand: Jiang Xiang had long had his eye on that trio of geniuses from the Four-Leaf Clover Organization.
They had been trying to uncover Kaitou Kid's secrets.
Later, after acquiring his clones, Jiang Xiang had overheard them suspecting that Kidd had superpowers, which was why they had come looking for him.
But after nearly a year without any results, they could only give up.
This time, their target was David, who had been discovered by one member of the trio of geniuses.
He had only shared his discovery with the others yesterday.
According to Jiang Xiang's investigation, the Four-Leaf Clover Organization was a racial extremist group.
They opposed Mutants, believing that mutations or abilities beyond those of normal people were wrong, and therefore sought to eliminate Mutants.
Of course, no individual or representative from this organization had managed to enter the United States' political arena.
Still, there was definitely financial backing behind them.
After all, the organization's premise wasn't particularly clever. All those years of promoting Captain America hadn't been for nothing.
People weren't that intolerant of Mutants.
From that perspective, the organization couldn't have many supporters.
Yet they could afford to build a base. Who would believe they had no one backing them?
After watching Melinda leave.
"An unexpected bonus, too."
Jiang Xiang's eyes shifted thoughtfully.
David was blindfolded and taken somewhere unknown.
But as he got out of the vehicle, he carefully opened a gap beneath his blindfold and glimpsed several large words-Al Psychiatric Hospital.
This is bad!
David was strapped to a wheeled hospital bed, unable to move.
"Hmph!"
David grunted, preparing to force his way out of the restraints.
A little over a month earlier, while passing through a garden, David had discovered that his body seemed to have changed.
He could easily press dumbbells weighing nearly three hundred kilograms and run a hundred meters in under nine seconds.
Although he wasn't vastly beyond human limits, it was fair to say he barely qualified as having superpowers.
Swish-
Needles plunged into David's body one after another.
Some injected substances, while others drew blood.
The enormous needles extracted a considerable amount of blood. Even someone as strong as David began to feel waves of weakness and drowsiness.
The people handling David wielded their needles deftly. They clearly weren't novices.
David soon passed out.
Elsewhere, Beast Billy received the same treatment.
Under the effects of the sedatives, Billy's savage, beastlike features gradually took on a slightly feminine appearance.
Clearly, he was a schizophrenic!
After the two men lost consciousness, the glaring lights gradually dimmed.
"Here's their blood." The fanatic from the trio of geniuses handed the blood to a man dressed as a butler.
"Good."
"What about our funding?" the fanatic asked cautiously.
"Check your account." With that, the man had his bodyguards carry several cases of blood away.
The bodyguards' gait and cadence showed traces of Marine Corps training.
The fanatic opened his account, and the string of digits dazzled him.
"Heh, now it's time to deal with those two scumbags." The fanatic sneered. If his financial backer hadn't forbidden him from killing them, he would have started slaughtering them long ago.
Leaving the secret chamber, the fanatic addressed the hospital's attending physician, Nicolna, who was also a member of their Four-Leaf Clover Organization. "Go take a look at those two troublesome psychiatric patients."
The fanatic led the way, with Dr. Nicole following behind, as they headed toward the two wards.
Once they had left, Jiang Xiang's clone slowly appeared.
As for how he had appeared?
As an inheritor of Old Man's Qi Magic, knowing a little Earth Release was perfectly reasonable, wasn't it?
Jiang Xiang distinctly sensed another source of mental power.
"Were there really this many extraordinary people around now? Three superhumans in a place this remote?"
Although they were only superhumans, lacking the special energy that people with superpowers could wield, they were already extremely close to becoming beings beyond the ordinary.
Behind the one-way mirror.
The fanatic glared viciously at the two men as if they were prey, his gaze sweeping back and forth.
His obsession with targeting superhumans stemmed from his painful past.
His parents had been killed by a superhuman through unknown means.
The law had been utterly incapable of convicting the killer.
In fact, if the man hadn't admitted it himself, the fanatic wouldn't even have known that this superhuman had murdered his parents.
Eventually, with help from members of the Four-Leaf Clover Organization, the fanatic had successfully taken revenge and naturally joined their ranks.
If Jiang Xiang had heard this story, he would certainly have wondered why S.H.I.E.L.D. hadn't intervened.
Didn't S.H.I.E.L.D. claim to protect the world, respond to unusual incidents, and handle them?
In reality, however, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s jurisdiction was quite limited, especially in the United States.
After all, S.H.I.E.L.D. was officially a global organization.
Not America's private organization.
Even as late as 1991, it had still been little more than a department focused on espionage.
At its peak, S.H.I.E.L.D. had only sixty thousand personnel.
That sixty thousand included frontline agents, logistics staff, outside contractors, researchers, and a whole range of other personnel.
Naturally, the current S.H.I.E.L.D. was nowhere near that size.
How could it possibly have the capacity to manage unusual incidents across the entire world?
Still, it was fair to say that responding to unusual incidents worldwide was currently S.H.I.E.L.D.'s goal.
"What do we do next?" Dr. Nicole asked.
"Have you memorized their histories? Have you found the weak points?"
"All done!"
"Then make them truly mentally ill!" The fanatic laughed with fervor and hatred.
Reining in his smile, he turned to Dr. Nicole and asked, "Have you dealt with that nigger in ward one?"
"I don't know," Nicole said honestly. "We're not sure whether he believes he's mentally ill yet. After all, his ability leans toward the mental kind-something you can't see or touch."
"Then keep following the plan until they believe they're truly mentally ill!" The fanatic turned and left, leaving Dr. Nicole alone to watch over the wards.
Jiang Xiang left a Three-Star Dragon Ball he had made at Al Psychiatric Hospital, then quietly departed.
Without taking so much as a wisp of cloud with him.
"Aaaah-"
David and Billy were subjected to the torment of electrotherapy in their wards, their screams echoing throughout the floor.
When the torture had left them utterly exhausted, they would be wheeled over to Dr. Nicole.
Together, they listened to her recount the past.
