The Portal in the Giant world glowed blue.
With a faint wave of dizziness, Levi, Erwin, Hange, and the others stepped out of the flowing light, their feet meeting the hard, cold metal deck.
They instinctively tensed, scanning their surroundings warily.
They seemed to be inside a steel fortress, surrounded by machinery and fully armed guards who stared fixedly at them.
Two people in white coats and protective face shields approached them.
"Don't move. Let them check you," Levi warned.
The others behind him immediately stiffened, looking extremely nervous as their entire bodies were inspected.
"Relax. We're just checking for prohibited items and cellular viruses!" one of the inspectors reassured them.
The inspection went smoothly. Before long, they were cleared to leave and rode away in a car, leaving behind the place that had made them feel so unsafe.
"Phew..." Only then did Hange breathe a sigh of relief. "That scared me to death. I thought they were going to grope me."
Levi rolled his eyes and ignored her. "Everyone, relax. Crime and war have practically been eliminated in the worlds under the Empire's rule. Anyone who dares commit a crime is severely punished."
"Also, I hear there's a special force secretly eliminating resistance organizations. Make sure you all keep your heads straight."
The others nodded repeatedly. "Of course."
Gradually, a city filled with towering buildings and advanced technology came into view in the distance.
Almost everyone around them had blond hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. They lined up in an orderly fashion to buy tickets and wait for their trains.
Hange and the others stared wide-eyed in every direction, determined not to miss a single detail.
