Chapter Summaries

Muzan ordered several Upper Rank demons to investigate the Ubuyashiki estate and the humans leaving it, while Sakonji Urokodaki escorted a reserve squad through the mountains. Daki ambushed the squad, and Urokodaki fought her as the others tried to escape.

• Muzan sent Hantengu and Gyokko to investigate the Ubuyashiki estate, then ordered Daki and Gyutaro to look into groups of humans near Yoshiwara.
• Muzan told Kokushibo and Akaza to wait while the investigation continued, then wondered about the powerful presence he had sensed.
• Sakonji Urokodaki led more than fifty reserve squad members, including Murata, Inosuke Hashibira, and Genya Shinazugawa, along a mountain path.
• Inosuke sensed danger ahead, and Daki revealed herself as Upper Rank Six of the Twelve Kizuki.
• Urokodaki ordered the squad to retreat and attacked Daki, while Genya fired at her and she dodged before lashing out with four sashes.

Sakonji Urokodaki cut off Daki’s head, but Gyutaro emerged from her body as the true Upper Rank demon and attacked him. As Genya and Inosuke fought Daki, Genya ignored Urokodaki’s warning that both demons might need to be beheaded at once and charged her.

• Sakonji Urokodaki warned the corps members to scatter as Daki’s sashes sliced several of them, and Inosuke Hashibira attacked her.
• Sakonji Urokodaki severed Daki’s head, but she caught it and remained alive; sensing the demon inside her, he carried Inosuke and Genya away and warned them that the twins might need to be beheaded simultaneously.

• Sabito, Makomo, and Giyu Tomioka rescued Urokodaki, gave him an antidote, and explained that the Empire had brought them back to life.

Demons overwhelmed the Swordsmith Village while Enmu’s Blood Demon Art put Tanjiro, Kyojuro, and Nezuko to sleep. Tanjiro awakened his Demon Slayer Mark after breaking free of his dream, then joined the fight against Enmu as the battle continued elsewhere in the village.

• Kyojuro and Tanjiro killed Susamaru and the Temari Demon, then identified a nearby demon as Lower Rank Three-Byaku.

Muichiro Tokito faced Gyokko with Tengen Uzui and Gyomei Himejima, hoping danger would restore his lost memories. Trapped in Gyokko’s water prison, Muichiro began recalling a boy from his past as a new figure burst into the wooden house in his vision.

• After injecting Danzo’s antidote, Muichiro asked Tengen and Gyomei to let him fight Gyokko alone so he could recover his memories.
• Muichiro mocked Gyokko’s pot, provoking the demon to unleash flying fish and other attacks, while Tengen and Gyomei protected him and fought back.

Muichiro recovered his memories of his family and broke free of Gyokko’s Water Prison Pot. Newly empowered, he joined Gyomei and Tengen in attacking Gyokko as the battle continued across the village.

• Muichiro remembered how his brother Yuichiro had protected him from a demon and died, and his memories returned in the present.
• Muichiro awakened Demon Slayer Marks, used Mist Breathing: Second Form to cut apart the Water Prison Pot, and freed himself.
• Muichiro thanked Yuichiro in his thoughts and rushed toward Gyokko, who had transformed into a new form.
• Muichiro used Mist Breathing: Seventh Form to vanish into mist and confuse Gyokko, while Gyomei and Tengen pressed their attacks.
• Tengen completed his Musical Score and charged Gyokko, while the fighters held the other fronts and His Majesty watched over the battlefield.

Tengen Uzui, Gyomei, and Muichiro killed Gyokko and raced west to help Obanai and Mitsuri, who were struggling against Hantengu’s manifestations. Obanai found Hantengu’s hidden body, but his attacks could not pierce it, and Hantengu launched a sudden counterattack as Mitsuri rushed to warn him.

• Tengen Uzui awakened his mark and, with Gyomei and Muichiro, beheaded Gyokko.
• Muichiro destroyed Gyokko’s head, and Gyomei sensed that Obanai and Mitsuri were in trouble.
• Mitsuri knocked Urogi away and realized that the tiny, hiding Hantengu was likely the demons’ real body.
• Mitsuri injured the manifestations while Obanai searched, and Kaburamaru led him to Hantengu’s hiding place.
• Obanai exposed Hantengu and struck at him, but his Nichirin Blade chipped and then cracked against the demon.

Mitsuri and the Hashira fought Zohakuten, who had absorbed Hantengu’s other forms and summoned Wood Dragons and Stone Lizards. After Mitsuri destroyed the Stone Lizards, Tetsuhiro arrived with an enormous Wood Dragon and sent the group after Hantengu’s original body.

• Zohakuten absorbed Sekido, Aizetsu, and Urogi, then struck Obanai with a bone club before the Hashira drove back his dragon attack.
• Zohakuten introduced himself, hid his original body, insulted Mitsuri, and summoned Wood Dragons and Stone Lizards to attack the Hashira.
• Mitsuri drew on her strength and destroyed all thirteen Stone Lizards with Love Breathing-Fifth Form: Swaying Love: Claws of Chaos.
• Zohakuten summoned more Stone Lizards, but Tetsuhiro arrived with an enormous Wood Dragon that knocked them aside.

Tetsuhiro and his companions fought Hantengu and Zohakuten, while the Hashira joined the battle. Hantengu died at Mitsuri’s hands, and Muzan watched the defeat from the Infinity Castle as dawn broke.

• Tetsuhiro, Dawn, and Toneri performed their rehearsed introduction, drawing reluctant applause from the Hashira.
• Tetsuhiro summoned a second Wood Dragon to restrain Zohakuten’s stone dragons, while Zohakuten’s sound-wave attack knocked Mitsuri unconscious.

• As Nezuko burned in the sun, Tetsuhiro arrived and had Dawn use genjutsu to make her believe Tanjiro and the swordsmiths were in danger, prompting her to endure the pain and conquer sunlight.
• Tetsuhiro restored Nezuko, declaring her the first perfect demon able to bask in the sun, while Tanjiro and Zenitsu thanked him and Zenitsu promised to protect her.
• Tetsuhiro assigned Dawn to reassure the village and arrange cleanup, then took Tanjiro and Kotetsu to retrieve Yoriichi Type Zero from the mountain shrine.
