Ch. 401Reassuring everyone, preparing ahead (bonus chapter)

Tetsuhiro reassured the academy after arriving in the Card Spirit World, revealed that he had arranged a way to receive a crucial card, and organized everyone to survive and explore. He left with a group of younger Duelists to find medicine, uncovering buried machinery and a stranded submarine along the way.

  • Tetsuhiro led everyone back to the academy, where Kagemaru, Samejima, Pegasus, Sugoroku, Daitokuji, and the students thanked him and pledged to help.
  • Tetsuhiro told everyone to learn about the Card Spirit World and explained that Pegasus had arranged for Dr. Eisenstein's team to excavate a card that could be sent to them using Duel energy.
  • Tetsuhiro urged the students to treat their predicament as a test, and Kagemaru organized exploration teams while assigning people to manage supplies, medical care, and the academy's defense.
  • Tetsuhiro ordered Yugi, Kaiba, and Joey Wheeler to protect those staying behind and take Professor Cobra for treatment, then left with Jaden, Jesse, Amon, and others to search for medicine.
  • Tetsuhiro exposed buried machinery in the desert and assigned Misawa, Axel, Fubuki, and Asuka to repair it and survey the area before leading the others to a stranded submarine whose crew had wandered into the wasteland.

Ch. 402Amon let go of his burdens, and the overlooked Marden disappeared

Tetsuhiro dismantled the submarine and took Amon and the others away after Amon gave up his ambitions to become a ruler. At the academy, a glowing attacker wounded Rei Saotome and Marden disappeared, prompting Sugoroku and the others to investigate as Kaiba followed Daitokuji.

  • Tetsuhiro used Banshō Ten'in to dismantle the submarine and gather the medicine inside.
  • Amon told Eiko he would devote himself to studying and leave his ambitions behind, and Tetsuhiro carried them away to search for the World Portal.
  • A glowing figure attacked Rei Saotome while she was with Kano Marden, leaving Rei unconscious and Marden missing.
  • Sugoroku Muto questioned the witnesses, calmed the gathered students, and urged them to guard important storerooms.
  • Daitokuji recalled Tetsuhiro's warning about an unknown virus and went to find Chairman Kagemaru with Sugoroku and Tristan Taylor.
  • Kaiba left a concealed room and followed Daitokuji, intrigued by the virus, the glowing man, and the Spirit World.

Ch. 403The Duel Virus Spread, and the Culprit Appeared!

Tetsuhiro left Jaden and the others to return the medicine while Mardel launched a series of attacks across the school. The Storehouse was targeted, and Tristan Taylor stepped forward to duel the transformed monsters as the students carried the injured away.

  • Tetsuhiro flew off alone, leaving Jaden and the others to carry the medicine back on foot.
  • Mardel summoned Rock Spirit Titans to trap Caesar, Aster, and Jesse in a duel, then defeated Harada, Teraoka, and Yamanaka and sealed them inside a Polymerization card.
  • The school's teams searched the west corridor, but Daitokuji and Instructor Napoleon secretly split off to pursue Mardel.
  • Tristan Taylor and the other squads found Chazz Princeton, Sho, and Kenzan defeated at the Storehouse, with Harada, Teraoka, and Yamanaka's faces growing from three monsters.
  • Tristan Taylor and two teammates stayed to duel the monsters while the others carried the unconscious students to the infirmary, then screams sounded outside the door.

Ch. 404For alchemy, for revenge

Tristan Taylor defeated the possessed Harada but was infected and forced into a string of duels until he collapsed and became a mindless duelist. As the academy fell into chaos, Daitokuji confronted “Mardel” about his energy-gathering scheme, escaped, and Seto Kaiba arrived to challenge the monster.

  • Tristan Taylor defeated Harada with [Machina Megaform], but yellow light from his bracelet infected him and his companion challenged him to duel.
  • Yamanaka and Teraoka vanished, leaving Tristan to duel his zombielike companion; after five consecutive duels, he collapsed and rose again as a mindless duelist.
  • Across the academy, afflicted students kept getting back up, while Kagemaru, Samejima, and Sugoroku led survivors through secret passages and Ms. Ayukawa, Anzu, and Meirui moved patients to safety.
  • Daitokuji confronted “Mardel” in the library, offered to help restore his body through alchemy, and escaped using a card when “Mardel” tried to stop him.
  • Seto Kaiba entered the library and challenged “Mardel” to a duel, mistaking him for someone who had interrupted his duel with Yugi.

Ch. 405The academy has fallen? We're back!

Jaden and the others reached the academy and escaped the infected students through a secret passage, where they reunited with the survivors and learned how badly the academy had been affected. After Rei began recovering, an explosion near the library prompted Kagemaru to lead most of the group toward the Storehouse.

  • Jaden and his companions were surrounded by students who shuffled toward them, muttering about dueling, and Jim led them into a secret passage as one teammate was seized by the crowd.
  • Jim told the group that Mardel had disappeared, Rei was injured, several people were missing, and the survivors planned to attack the Storehouse.
  • Aster and Amon updated Kagemaru and Principal Samejima, while Ms. Ayukawa and Anzu used the medicine Jaden brought to help Rei recover.
  • Anzu and Meirui worried about Sugoroku and Tristan, whom Jaden and the others had not seen.
  • An explosion rocked the academy near the library, and Kagemaru led most of the survivors toward the Storehouse while Aster and several girls stayed behind.

Ch. 406A draw and injuries? Seeking cooperation.

Yubel, disguised as "Mardel," defeated Daitokuji and announced that challengers would have to face the Three Visored Knights to save the academy’s victims. Jaden and the others reached the academy entrance to find the knights waiting, while Yubel descended into the valley to retrieve three cards.

  • Kaiba and "Mardel" ended their duel in a draw after Ring of Destruction reduced both their Life Points to zero, and Kaiba escaped.
  • Sugoroku Muto lost a duel to "Mardel," who drained his energy and sent him away.
  • Daitokuji challenged "Mardel" to cooperate, but Yubel overpowered him and drained his energy until he lost consciousness.
  • "Mardel" announced the Mardel Empire and challenged the academy survivors to defeat the Three Visored Knights, then headed for the valley.
  • Jaden and his allies fought through a crowd at the academy entrance, where the Three Visored Knights awaited them; Jim, Jesse, and Aster were chosen to fight.
  • Yubel raised stone pillars in the valley and descended underground to retrieve three cards, followed by a short, stout man and [Pharaoh].

Ch. 407Rainbow Dragon chose Jesse as its master-Caesar, you're dying!

Tetsuhiro arrived at Duel Academy, subdued the students afflicted by the virus, and used Jesse and Caesar’s duel to open a vortex for a rocket carrying Rainbow Dragon. Jesse received the card, while Tetsuhiro discovered that Caesar’s heart was failing and warned him to quit dueling.

  • Axel and the others returned, and Tetsuhiro appeared after Chairman Kagemaru prepared to contact him.
  • Tetsuhiro knocked the infected students unconscious and led everyone to the tennis courts, where Jesse and Caesar began a duel to generate electromagnetic waves.
  • With the duel’s energy opening a vortex, Professor Einstein launched a rocket from the Real World, and Tetsuhiro guided it safely to the academy.
  • The rocket delivered Ultimate Crystal God-Rainbow Dragon to Jesse, and Caesar ended the duel in a draw.
  • Tetsuhiro examined Caesar’s heart, explained that his extreme use of electric currents was killing him, and told him to give up dueling.

Ch. 408Where Did the Sacred Beasts Go? Yubel Reveals Their True Form

Tetsuhiro treated Caesar, explained Yubel’s history with Jaden, and confronted Yubel after they recovered their strength. Yubel departed for Dark World, while Tetsuhiro returned to the academy and found Professor Cobra awake.

  • Tetsuhiro healed Caesar and reminded Jaden that he had sent [Elemental HERO Neos] and [Yubel] into space when he was young, where Yubel suffered under the Light of Ruin.
  • Yubel’s rage caused the mountain behind the academy to collapse, and Tetsuhiro shielded the others before flying to confront them.
  • Tetsuhiro revealed that he had already subdued the Sacred Beasts and suggested that Yubel seek Mad King Brron in Dark World to push Jaden toward becoming the Supreme King.
  • Yubel left in yellow light, and Tetsuhiro brought Instructor Napoleon, Mardel, and the chubby cat back to the academy.
  • The academy’s afflicted students and staff recovered, Kaiba flew west to find Yugi, and Tetsuhiro learned that Professor Cobra had awakened.

Ch. 409The Battle Across Twelve Dimensions: Yubel, Where the Hell Did You Send Me?

Tetsuhiro led the academy expedition through a world junction, but a spatial storm sent him into space, where he saved Yuga Goha from a doomed battle with Otes. After Tetsuhiro vanished under a force pulling him through space and time, Yuga headed back to Earth, still unsure what Tetsuhiro had told him.

  • Tetsuhiro briefed the recovered academy members on their mission to stop Yubel and develop their abilities, then led them out in four teams.
  • As Tetsuhiro entered a portal, spatial fluctuations sent him into space, where he saw Yuga Goha and Otes battling in damaged machines.
  • Tetsuhiro tried to save both pilots, but Otes's machine broke apart and Otes died after entrusting Yuga with the New World.
  • Tetsuhiro pulled Yuga's damaged mech to safety, collected drifting Decks, and invited Yuga to speak with him inside the machine.
  • A space-time force made Tetsuhiro disappear as he tried to tell Yuga his name and advice, and Yuga set course for Earth.

Ch. 410Across Time and Space, Defend GO RUSH

Li Tetsuhiro arrived in the GO RUSH world just as Yudias Velgear and his allies fought an invasion from the purple sky. After revealing his overwhelming power, Li Tetsuhiro let his card monsters take over when the spatial storm weakened him, and three Blue-Eyes White Dragons began to evolve.

  • Yudias Goha and Yuna Goha said goodbye to Yudias Velgear and departed through the gate, which vanished and left Li Tetsuhiro behind.
  • Li Tetsuhiro met Yudias Velgear and Zwijo, then learned that the people of Velgear were preparing to fight an enemy invasion.
  • Yudias Velgear and his allies summoned monsters and attacked the endless enemy forces, but the invasion continued.
  • Li Tetsuhiro appeared beside Yudias Velgear and used his chakra to overwhelm the battlefield before the spatial storm weakened him.
  • Li Tetsuhiro sent Exodia and his other card monsters to fight, and three Blue-Eyes White Dragons blocked Zwijo's [Voidvelgr Requiem] and began to evolve.

Ch. 411Deck upgrades and new cards!

Tetsuhiro and his summoned monsters helped Yudias and his allies defeat most of their enemies, but Yubel’s pursuit forced Tetsuhiro to return to his own time and space. After surviving another spatial storm, Tetsuhiro found himself injured in a desolate place and began preparing to use the system’s lottery draws.

  • Tetsuhiro unleashed an army of evolved Blue-Eyes, Dark Magician, Black Luster Soldier, and other monsters against the enemy forces.
  • Yudias and Zwijo watched Tetsuhiro’s power in shock as the allied monsters destroyed the enemy ranks.
  • As Tetsuhiro began disappearing, he told Yudias that Yubel was pursuing him and that he came from the past; Yudias gave him a card before he vanished.
  • Yudias and his companions charged the remaining enemies, and centuries later Yudias recorded their battle and his memories of Tetsuhiro on a stone tablet.
  • Tetsuhiro emerged from another spatial storm badly injured, assessed his desolate surroundings, and learned that he had nine lottery draws saved up.
  • Tetsuhiro asked the system to enter the lottery interface and prepared to draw one time.

Ch. 412Lottery in progress...

Tetsuhiro used his lottery draws, winning a powerful Duel Card-Nibiru, the Primal Being and an AI Reboot Device amid several bad results. He suspected Hashirama Senju’s gambling luck was affecting him, but continued drawing and ended by praying for a spatial bag.

  • Tetsuhiro began spending his nine lottery draws, but the first landed on a black slot and gave him no reward.
  • Tetsuhiro’s second draw awarded him Duel Card-Nibiru, the Primal Being, which he recognized as a powerful card.
  • Tetsuhiro wondered whether Hashirama Senju’s gambling addiction had rubbed off on him, then drew a Mini 4WD-Dancing Dashing on his third try.
  • Tetsuhiro received nothing from the next two draws and grew numb to the lottery’s bad luck.
  • Tetsuhiro’s sixth draw awarded him an AI Reboot Device, which he stored away because he saw little use for it.
  • Tetsuhiro lamented not having a spatial bag, blamed Hashirama for his rotten luck, and told the system to continue the lottery.

Ch. 413Purple rarity, quests unlocked!

Tetsuhiro drew a purple-rarity Portable Storage Device, questioned the system about its origins and Upgrade Kit, and unlocked quests after the system admitted its records were damaged. He accepted the quests once he learned they had no penalties, then checked bond levels with people from his past worlds.

  • Tetsuhiro won a purple-rarity Portable Storage Device in the lottery, and the system asked him to install and bind an Upgrade Kit.
  • Tetsuhiro refused to bind the kit until the system explained its purpose, risks, and origins.
  • The system said its database records were missing, denied malicious programming, and unlocked quests to investigate its damage, recover records and components, and supply other components.
  • Tetsuhiro learned the quests had no deadlines or failure penalties and became eager to pursue them after hearing targeted draws could yield rewards above legendary quality.
  • Tetsuhiro asked the system for bond levels, which ranged from Joey Wheeler's 100% to Yuga Goha's 10%.

Ch. 414Gambler's Luck: Conqueror's Haki Acquired!

Tetsuhiro copied Joey Wheeler's Gambler's Luck, bound a Portable Storage Device, and used a targeted lottery draw that awarded him Conqueror's Haki. He also received a Constitution-Enhancing Potion in his final draw, and the chapter ended with him planning to figure out how to use his new Haki.

  • Tetsuhiro copied Joey Wheeler's Gambler's Luck and learned that its active effect required an embarrassing victory pose.
  • Tetsuhiro bound the Portable Storage Device and received 5,000 points and a targeted lottery draw.
  • Tetsuhiro used the targeted draw and Gambler's Luck, but the pointer slipped from a golden slot into a purple one.
  • Tetsuhiro acquired the rare talent Conqueror's Haki and claimed it immediately.
  • Tetsuhiro used his final lottery draw and received a Constitution-Enhancing Potion.

Ch. 415Virtual World? Who's Spying on Me?

After using a serum to heal and strengthen himself, Tetsuhiro discovered that he was in Cyberse, an artificial world made of data, and raced toward a clue at its edge. He overcame a series of attacks and reached the world’s invisible boundary.

  • Tetsuhiro injected the serum, which rapidly healed his injuries and improved his physique.
  • Tetsuhiro sensed someone probing his mental world, then used his Byakugan and Far-Sight Eye to see data beneath Cyberse’s artificial desert and sky.
  • Tetsuhiro spotted someone searching ten kilometers away and identified the world as Cyberse, then determined that a clue lay at its eastern edge.
  • Tetsuhiro used Repulsive Force to push through sandstorms, rainstorms, tornadoes, and repeated lightning attacks while discovering that Wood Release consumed five times the usual chakra.
  • Tetsuhiro reached the edge of Cyberse and found an invisible wall blocking his path.

Ch. 416Cyberse? Found You, Little Black!

Tetsuhiro broke into Cyberse's hidden subspace and used the AI Reboot Device to restore Ai, while his system began converting the AI. The conversion remained incomplete when Ai drew Yusaku Fujiki into the space, where Yusaku confronted Tetsuhiro as Tetsuhiro tried to control him.

  • Tetsuhiro found and shattered a hidden spatial barrier, then entered the data-filled subspace where Ai's dormant core was gathering data.
  • Tetsuhiro gave Ai the AI Reboot Device, which began rebuilding Ai's body, and approved the system's conversion while preserving Ai's original personality and removing hostility toward humans.
  • Ai awakened during the conversion and attacked Tetsuhiro, who defended himself as the system's progress reached 70 percent.
  • Ai scanned someone nearby and pulled Yusaku Fujiki into the subspace through a spatial vortex.
  • Tetsuhiro pinned Yusaku with repulsion and used Will Control on him, but Yusaku summoned an armored warrior and mechanical dragon when he saw Ai.

Ch. 417Heartfelt bromance, and the overwhelming power of Duel rules

Tetsuhiro tried to take Ai from Yusaku by placing him under mind control, but Ai’s data helped Yusaku break free. Yusaku challenged Tetsuhiro to a Duel, forcing him to face the rules that suppressed his powers, and Tetsuhiro prepared to fight with his Smile Deck.

  • Tetsuhiro restrained Yusaku and inserted a blue orb of light into his body, sending his consciousness into an illusion where he reunited with Ai.
  • Yusaku revealed that Ai’s copies had lost consciousness after the final battle and wondered whether Ai’s backup had survived in an area beyond Kaiba Corporation’s control.
  • Ai transferred data into Yusaku, and Tetsuhiro’s system converted Ai successfully while awarding Tetsuhiro a targeted Lottery draw and a Salamangreat Deck.
  • The data broke Yusaku’s mind control, expelled the blue orb, and let him awaken and declare a Duel against Tetsuhiro.
  • Duel rules bound Tetsuhiro and disabled his abilities, but he decided to fight Yusaku with his Smile Deck.

Ch. 418System AI Assistant-Little Black, the Duel Begins

Tetsuhiro took control of Ai, whom he renamed Little Black, and began absorbing Cyberse data while arguing with Yusaku about Ai’s future. Yusaku insisted on a Duel to win Ai back, and the Duel rules forced Tetsuhiro to accept as the chapter ended.

  • Little Black flew past Yusaku, became Tetsuhiro’s Duel Disk, and began absorbing Cyberse data into the system.
  • Tetsuhiro and Yusaku debated whether Ai would be safer in another world, with Yusaku arguing that he would protect him.
  • Yusaku challenged Tetsuhiro to a Duel over Ai, but Tetsuhiro refused and said he respected Little Black’s wishes.
  • Little Black professed his loyalty to Tetsuhiro, leaving Yusaku furious and determined to keep challenging him.
  • Tetsuhiro’s Duel Disk opened and displayed his cards as a countdown began, forcing him to accept the Duel.

Ch. 419A duel across space and time, Li Tiezhu vs. Yusaku Fujiki!

Li Tetsuhiro and Yusaku Fujiki began their duel as the Cyberse world was being erased, and Yusaku launched an elaborate Cyberse combo. The chapter ended with Yusaku summoning Cyberse Witch while his field and resources continued to grow.

  • Little Black apologized to Li Tetsuhiro for failing to stop the force that was altering the system, and Li Tetsuhiro reassured it before choosing his Deck.
  • Li Tetsuhiro and Yusaku Fujiki began their duel with 4,000 Life Points each, and Yusaku announced they would use Master Duel rules.
  • Yusaku used Cynet Mining and a series of Link Summons to build his field, including Salamangreat Beacon Lynx, Transcode Talker, and Firewall Dragon.
  • Yusaku used Firewall Dragon and his other cards to summon Mathmech Circular, Sigma, and Primathmech Laplacian.
  • Yusaku used Laplacian and Pebble Dog to Link Summon Cyberse Witch.

Ch. 420That Powerful Combo Was Broken Just Like That?

Yusaku built an overwhelming board to rescue Ai and challenge Tetsuhiro, but Tetsuhiro summoned The Winged Dragon of Ra-Sphere Mode and tributed away Yusaku’s three Firewall Dragons. The duel continued with Yusaku’s carefully constructed field broken.

  • Yusaku used Cyberse Sage and his other monsters to summon Wind Pegasus @Ignister, Firewall Dragon Singularity, Firewall Dragon Darkfluid, Tri-Gate Wizard, and Link Disciple.
  • Yusaku set a card and declared he would take Ai back, while Tetsuhiro dismissed his beliefs and began his turn.
  • Yusaku revived Protectcode Talker, filling all seven zones and forming a board Black believed was nearly impossible to overcome.
  • Tetsuhiro refused Black’s offer to use control privileges, explained that simulations could not account for unknown variables, and said he had ways to defeat Yusaku.
  • Tetsuhiro summoned The Winged Dragon of Ra-Sphere Mode, which absorbed Firewall Dragon, Firewall Dragon Singularity, and Firewall Dragon Darkfluid, breaking Yusaku’s linked field.
