Objectively speaking, Jonas truly had no intention of letting Miss Amau suffer any physical harm.
Mental harm, however, was another matter.
Just as Jonas had told Rachel, this was a trial... and it was all to help Miss Amau become better.
And what reason could possibly be more benevolent than that?
Looking at Yucas lying unconscious in the room, Rachel pressed her lips together.
She knew perfectly well how Jonas had conned her.
Yet in the end, she still couldn't escape being discarded once she had outlived her usefulness...
For some reason, Rachel saw a hint of herself in her.
Shaking her head, the girl pushed the thought out of her mind.
The door slowly closed. Rachel raised her head, and Jonas's faintly amused voice rang out right on cue, as though he had been waiting outside for a long time:
"Is she settled in?"
"Yes... where are we going next?" Rachel cast aside the distracting thoughts in her mind and took a deep breath before speaking.
"Back to the hall."
As he spoke, Jonas couldn't help smiling. His next words sent a chill down Rachel's spine:
"It's time to teach Miss Amau a lesson..."
-None of this was a game played on a chessboard.
"If you don't assume the worst possible intentions of your opponent, you're bound to end up losing."
After all, victory and defeat knew no mercy.

The heads of conglomerates large and small, the so-called "successful people" invited to attend the Chamber of Commerce gathering, were still shaken by what had just happened.
Belatedly, they tried making calls to seek help, only to discover that the signal here had been completely cut off.
The signal-blocking system, originally intended to enhance security, had turned this place into a coffin where they could only
