The Peacekeeping Forces.
An entire week had passed since the cruise ship incident. The affair had dealt a severe blow to the Peacekeeping Forces, but fortunately, they had arrived in time to capture some of the attackers, salvaging a measure of public trust.
Yucas sat in her office, with various files on the Wetting Conglomerate spread out before her.
An electronic pen spun between her fingers as she sank into thought.
The cruise ship incident had hit Yucas hard, not just because she had been unable to accomplish anything throughout the ordeal. More importantly, almost every move she made had been under Jonas's control since before she even boarded the ship.
Being manipulated like that felt awful. Everything, from her permission to board to the way she ultimately left, had been neatly arranged for her, leaving Yucas with a profound sense of defeat.
Of course, because Esnie had knocked her unconscious, Yucas had no idea what had happened at the end of the cruise ship incident.
But her instincts told her that Jonas had definitely been involved.
Jonas had known from the outset that the Destiny Organization would attack the cruise ship, yet he had chosen to board despite his feud with them... That alone was suspicious, and Yucas could not imagine what had given him the confidence to dare do it.
And the explanation the Peacekeeping Forces had ultimately offered for the ship's explosion did not stand up to scrutiny either.
The Destiny Organization had no reason to do something that hurt others without benefiting themselves. No matter how much Yucas mulled it over, she could not understand why they would choose to kill everyone at the banquet. It was completely unlike their previous methods.
By Yucas's reckoning, the Destiny Organization should have used those capitalists at the banquet
