The door opened, but the person who appeared before Beigong Ling was not Jonas. It was Eiffel, who had previously been at his side.
Beigong Ling was sitting on a white chair in the room, with a matching table in front of her and her unfinished meal on top... It was around twelve thirty in the afternoon, less than twenty minutes since the food had been delivered. That was why she was surprised someone had come to see her now.
When the girl entered the room, Beigong Ling looked surprised, then frowned and asked:
"Why didn't he come?"
The "he" Beigong Ling referred to was, of course, Jonas Wetting. He had always come to negotiate with her himself. Seeing someone else in his place left her somewhat puzzled.
Unfortunately, Eiffel ignored her question. She simply tossed over a pale blue employee uniform and said:
"Put this on and come with me to see Mr. Jonas."
Beigong Ling caught the clothes, a huge question mark practically appearing over her head.
"Now? Here?"
At her questions, Eiffel paused, then gave a faintly mocking smile and said:
"It's not as if I haven't seen it before. What do you still have to be embarrassed about, Miss Beigong Ling?"
The remark caught Beigong Ling off guard. Then she quickly realized Eiffel was referring to what had happened under the surveillance cameras, and her face flushed scarlet.
It was embarrassing, but not enough to make her lash out.
About two minutes later, Beigong Ling had changed into the employee uniform Eiffel had brought her.
She did not know whether she was imagining it, but the uniform seemed ill-fitting, clinging tightly to her entire body.
