About four or five seconds after she knocked, Jonas's voice came from inside the office:

"Come in."

The first thing Beigong Ling saw upon entering the office was the obvious indentation in the sofa a short distance away. In truth, what she had overheard outside was enough to guess what had happened. Having forced herself to wait outside for nearly forty extra minutes, Beigong Ling felt somewhat indignant, but she did not show it.

The girl had never liked letting others see her emotions directly, but certain details still offered clues to how she felt... her earlobes, for instance.

The vivid red of Beigong Ling's ears betrayed what had really been going through her mind during those dozens of minutes spent eavesdropping outside. It also betrayed that she had guessed at the intimate scene that had just unfolded in the office.
