Amau Sueko was still unconscious

After leaving Iris, Jonas went straight to his office.

The effects of the Destiny Organization's second attack had all but faded. Jonas sat in his office chair as a message from Steltert Hospital appeared on the virtual interface before him.

They had successfully delivered Miss Amau Sueko to the Enlis District.

And the file he had prepared in advance had gone to the Enlis District along with Amau Sueko.

The Smithton Type II Jammer could forcibly send files to nearby accounts.

It was the most common advertising device on the streets, but Jonas was now using it as a tool to kill-and crush the spirit.

Things were unfolding just as he had anticipated. Before long, the Destiny Organization would likely receive the gift Jonas had sent them.

Or rather, the farewell gift he had sent Miss Amau Sueko.

The Enlis District.

It was known as one of the most lawless districts.

Though it was not the Slums, drugs, human trafficking, and armed gang clashes were just as rampant there.

As for the reason... there was only one: this was where the Destiny Organization had put down roots.

Ironically, despite being a Riot Organization that resisted oppression, it had deep ties with several conglomerates.

Perhaps each conglomerate wanted the Destiny Organization to keep the others in check, which instead gave it the chance to grow stronger.

Earlkes Bar.

A man known as Aungus sat silently sipping his drink. The television hanging above the bar was broadcasting news about the Wetting Conglomerate.

The voice coming from the television news irritated Aungus.

He casually hurled his glass aside, scattering broken glass and the remaining liquor across the floor.

As a member of the Destiny Organization, he naturally knew what had happened in the Alt District recently.

In a sense, sending the Fourth Special Operations Team to attack the Alt Branch Building and rescue Amau Sueko, hiring hackers to target the building's firewall-all these missions had required his approval before they could proceed.

Every one of those missions had failed, and they had cost him dearly.

That had left him especially irritable over the past few days.

Amau Sueko was talented. Several times, when the Destiny Organization had found itself in trouble, she had devised a way out. He did not want to lose someone so capable, so he had sent the Fourth Special Operations Team to rescue her.

What he had not expected was for a mission he had considered a sure thing to end in disaster.

The hackers had not distracted the Wetting Conglomerate at all, and the planned attack had become a complete joke.

Thirty-six people. Not a single survivor.

It was a defeat unlike any the Destiny Organization had suffered since its founding.

For once, Aungus felt a trace of defeat.

"Boss-"

The call dragged Aungus out of his thoughts.

He looked up to see one of his men rushing toward him. Frowning, he asked:

"What's the rush? What happened?"

"Nothing bad, nothing bad."

The man paused to catch his breath, then hurriedly said:

"Miss Amau Sueko just came back."

"She came back?"

Aungus could hardly believe it. He asked:

"Where is she now?"

"She's being examined by the medical department. When we found her on Wall Street, Miss Amau was still unconscious."

The man hesitated slightly before asking:

"Do you want to go see her, boss?"

"We'll talk once she wakes up."

Aungus paused, then continued:

"Go get the other core members of the Destiny Organization for me."

Earlkes Bar.

Seated at the head of the table, Aungus looked at the men around him and asked:

"What do you make of the Wetting Conglomerate's stance?"

"A truce...? No, that's unlikely."

A man beside him spoke, but quickly rejected his own idea and said instead:

"Everyone else died, but they let Amau Sueko come back. They're clearly showing us what they're capable of."

"Could she have escaped on her own?" an older man on the other side asked with a frown.

"Miss Amau may be a skilled hacker, but escaping under those circumstances would've been difficult, wouldn't it?"

The man beside him shot down the older man's suggestion.

"Are you so sure Amau Sueko hasn't betrayed the organization?"

The bar grew noisy.

Everyone insisted on their own view. Aungus slapped the table and said:

"Stop arguing!"

Clearly, Aungus still commanded considerable respect. The moment he spoke, the room fell silent.

"I know you all feel something's wrong. So do I..."

His gaze swept over everyone present as he said:

"But I'd rather believe Miss Amau hasn't betrayed the organization."

With Aungus having spoken, the others soon made their positions clear.

Aungus breathed a silent sigh of relief and said:

"I know you have a lot of questions, but it's precisely at times like this that we need to trust our comrades."

"Once Miss Amau wakes up, we'll find out exactly what happened in the Alt District."

As he spoke, Aungus had no idea that an even greater conspiracy was brewing.

The Enlis District.

That night, countless members of the Destiny Organization received a file.

It was a video, roughly a dozen seconds long.

There was a brief stutter when they opened it, followed by smooth footage.

A white-haired girl held a gun and pulled the trigger without hesitation.

Then the bullet pierced the man's head.

The video stuttered for another second. The man fell to the ground, his expression still somewhat stunned even as he died.

As it happened, many people in the Destiny Organization recognized that face.

He was one of the Destiny Organization's members.

-Ian Strala.

And Amau Sueko, the central figure in the incident.

She was still unconscious.
