Ji Chi was terrifying now.
A hundred times more terrifying than an omega.
Huo Jin dried his freshly washed hands and turned from the stove, only to meet Ji Chi's lustful gaze.
Ji Chi tugged at the hem of Huo Jin's shirt, leaving his words half-finished, drawn out and hard to decipher. "Hey, that thing of yours..."
Huo Jin lowered his gaze and leaned down slightly to meet his eyes. His husky voice sounded even sexier now. "What do you want?"
Ji Chi rose onto his toes and kissed Huo Jin on the lips.
Huo Jin wrapped an arm around his waist and lifted him onto the counter, then lowered his eyes with a serious expression. "Hungry again?"
Ji Chi looked down and lifted a foot to touch Huo Jin's waist.
"The food just now wasn't good."
"Make me something else..."
"Cooking takes a lot of time." Huo Jin chuckled. "Do I get a reward?"
Ji Chi wrapped his arms around Huo Jin's shoulders and kissed the corner of his mouth.
"You do."
Huo Jin held Ji Chi by the waist and returned the kiss with the utmost tenderness. "Not enough..."
"I'll teach you."
As Ji Chi called Huo Jin's name, his clear voice gradually dissolved into murmurs and soft, petulant whimpers.
"Huo Jin..."
"Huo Jin..."
Ji Chi knocked over the kitchen rack. The clattering mingled with their intimate murmurs, and what Huo Jin picked up was a vegetable.
"I don't want to eat that..."
"What can we do? The young master doesn't get a choice."
The extra meal was a sandwich and milk.
Ji Chi was told to finish his milk.
"Milk is nutritious."
"I added sugar. It doesn't have that milky smell."
Only after Huo Jin coaxed him for ages did Ji Chi reluctantly finish the milk.
Ji Chi held the milk glass, his brows furrowed.
Huo Jin had lied to him.
There was no sugar in the milk, and it had a strong milky smell.
To stop Huo Jin from nagging him, Ji Chi deliberately spilled half the full glass of milk, then gulped it down, getting plenty on his face.
Huo Jin wiped Ji Chi's face clean with a tissue. "You did that on purpose."
Ji Chi licked the corner of his mouth.
"You little brat."
Huo Jin carried him into the living room. His clothes needed changing too; he was wet all over. Huo Jin fetched a clean outfit from the bedroom for Ji Chi. He had brought it back when he went out earlier, bought in Ji Chi's size.
After dressing him, Huo Jin warmed up some more milk for Ji Chi.
"You can only hug me once you've finished it," Huo Jin said sternly.
Those words held immense power over Ji Chi in his current state.
"Hmph." He gave a loud huff and reluctantly finished the milk.
The two had settled into a strangely harmonious rhythm, able to understand each other with a single glance. Huo Jin leaned toward Ji Chi and kissed the corner of his mouth, and the young master immediately cheered up.
Huo Jin brought his laptop out of the study. He sat beside Ji Chi, raised the smart coffee table's top, and began working.
He had thought Ji Chi would stay quiet for a while after eating his fill.
Ten minutes later, Ji Chi started causing trouble again.
Ji Chi had been leaning against Huo Jin. Suddenly, he moved Huo Jin's hand aside and straddled his lap.
Realizing Huo Jin was working, Ji Chi did not go too far. He simply hugged him close and stayed still.
Fine strands of hair brushed lightly against Huo Jin's neck, with such a big man clinging to him.
Working in peace was clearly impossible.
Having an overly clingy alpha had its drawbacks.
For instance, he would have to cancel his upcoming video meeting.
Huo Jin rubbed Ji Chi's head and asked softly, "What's wrong?"
Ji Chi's warm breath brushed against Huo Jin as his muffled voice sounded, tinged with displeasure. "Too far away..."
Huo Jin gave a low hum. "Then stay still. I'll spend time with you once I finish my work."
Ji Chi murmured a soft assent.
Huo Jin immediately praised him when he heard the response.
Even so, Ji Chi could not hold out until Huo Jin finished working. He felt as though he had waited forever. It was already dark, and Huo Jin was still working.
Ji Chi suddenly grew impatient. He pressed down on the laptop screen and snapped it shut.
Clack!
Ji Chi stared straight at Huo Jin. He had noticed that Huo Jin only wore glasses when he worked. With his glasses on, Huo Jin looked even gentler, and the understated elegance honed by time became all the more apparent.
Ji Chi reached up and removed Huo Jin's gold-rimmed glasses. "You lied."
Huo Jin pushed the laptop aside and looked Ji Chi straight in the eye.
His gaze turned dangerous.
Ji Chi looked aggrieved. He thought Huo Jin was angry.
Huo Jin was frightening when he grew serious.
Ji Chi put Huo Jin's glasses back on for him. "Bad enigma."
Huo Jin pinched Ji Chi's nose. "Bad alpha. Thanks a lot. As if shutting my laptop wasn't enough, you even managed to delete my file with a keyboard shortcut."
With that, Huo Jin stood up with Ji Chi in his arms and went into the bedroom.
"You're done for."
"Seriously."
It was already midnight when Huo Jin came back out.
Huo Jin had a summary to write, so after coaxing Ji Chi to sleep, he returned to the living room.
Half an hour later, he saw Ji Chi emerge from the bedroom barefoot again.
Huo Jin abruptly propped a hand against his temple.
Someone save me...
This was terrifying.
His alpha was far too terrifying.
