Ash's first reaction after landing was to look around. When he found the area empty, with only himself there, he immediately slumped onto the grass, clutching his head with a pained expression.
Because those two bastards Igula and Harvey had drawn all his attention, Ash had spent the last bit of time showing off to them and completely forgotten that he wasn't alone!
He hadn't pulled Death Frenzy into the Portal!
The thought that Death Frenzy was still in the completely submerged Black Descent Hell sent Ash into a panic. He looked down at the back of his hand, which had only 1 Calamity Number left, frantic as a Lala Fat on a hot pan. Then he suddenly slapped himself hard between the brows and toppled backward onto the grass.
"Are you trying to knock the water out of your brain?"
Ash opened his eyes and looked up. He saw a pair of straight, long legs in Mystic Steel Boots; beneath the swordswoman's skirt were leggings, and her snow-white thighs looked powerful at a glance. Death Frenzy slowly crouched down and blew a ring of smoke at his face. "I'd recommend slapping yourself instead. It should be more effective at correcting your IQ."
Ash immediately sat up and stared blankly at her. "Why are you here too? Didn't I fail to pull you into the Portal?"
"Sorry to disappoint you." Death Frenzy tilted her head and smiled. "But I don't think I ever asked you to pull me into the Portal with you, did I?"
"As long as you possess Aurora's Sorcerer Manual, I'll always be by your side. No matter where you go, I'll follow."
Ash let out a breath of relief, stood up, and said, "I thought you'd been left in Black Descent—"
"If a mere hell was
