Celadon City, Celadon University.
At Principal Shoshi's invitation, Li Wei made a special trip to Celadon University.
Having proven his strength by competing in the Master League, Li Wei
was here to give the Celadon students a special lesson on Pokémon battles.
Battle lessons covered little beyond type advantages, tactics, and the bonds that transcended everything else.
The Celadon students who had watched Ash's matches said they understood that last part.
Infernape and Charizard's explosive bursts of power were both very clear examples.
Li Wei also taught them a relatively basic tactic-Substitute-Protect-Toxic.
He had thought of this because Arcanine had been hit by Sleep Powder during his battle with Erika at the Celadon Gym.
The tactic was still usable, though it came with quite a few restrictions.
As for why Erika hadn't used it,
the answer was simple: when the gap between Pokémon was too great, everything else was pointless.
Arcanine, who spent all day cuddling and licking the Rainbow Wing and the Flame Plate, had followed Metagross into the Champion Tier.
With that, Li Wei now had six Champion Tier Pokémon: Zeraora, Lucario, Dragapult, Diancie, Metagross, and Arcanine.
Counting Victini, who had reached the Champion Tier long ago, he had seven.
That was actually a standard lineup for a Champion.
One could say that Li Wei had now reached the threshold of Blue's strength two years ago.
Of course, he still couldn't quite match Blue from two years ago.
Not unless Li Wei counted Regigigas and Darkrai.
The current Champions had long since upgraded to a new version.
Red and Blue each had several Battle Legends, and Red also had Mewtwo as his trump card.
Signature Pokémon such as Cynthia's Garchomp, Steven's Metagross, and Lance's Dragonite had long since become Battle Legends.
Although the others had yet to break
