After learning the news,
Professor Rowan immediately called Li Wei.
Normally, the staff at the Rowan Research Institute would contact the Pokémon Center.
At this point, however, contacting Li Wei or Nurse Joy at the Pokémon Center amounted to the same thing.
Professor Rowan got straight to the point.
"Li Wei, what Pokémon did you catch?"
Li Wei was a little surprised. "How did you know?"
Professor Rowan explained, "Ask Nurse Joy in a bit. She'll explain it to you."
Waiting in the Pokémon Center lobby, Li Wei turned to glance at Nurse Joy, who was standing at the reception counter.

Li Wei replied, "A Steel-type Pokémon called Melmetal."
He hadn't chosen the name at random.
It came from Melmetal's cry.

Hearing this, Professor Rowan asked in confusion, "Melmetal? Why does that name sound familiar?"
"Could you have heard it in a legend?"
Professor Rowan remembered.
"I think I did! The legendary Cyclops-I remember someone calling it Melmetal!"
Professor Rowan asked, "Do you have some time? I'd like to flesh out its Pokédex entry."
Li Wei nodded. "Yes. I'll bring it over at eight tomorrow morning."
With Hoopa around, Li Wei could have brought Melmetal over as soon as its treatment was finished.
But he also wanted to introduce it to his family later.
Once Melmetal had been with him longer and he understood its temperament better, he could simply teleport it over.
For now, though, it was safer for Li Wei to go in person.
