If things continued like this, Dragapult had a chance of wearing Pikachu down.
Of course, things could also have gone the other way.

After Red recalled Pikachu and switched in Snorlax, Li Wei also sent out his rarely used Milotic.
Lance asked curiously, "Doesn't Li Wei's Milotic rarely battle?"
Cynthia nodded slightly. "Pretty rarely, yes."
Cynthia added, "But it's not weak at all."
Blue agreed. "Its strength really surprised me."
Li Wei had barely commanded Milotic in battle a handful of times. He hadn't expected its level to be so high.
The corners of Cynthia's lips lifted. "The interesting part is still to come."
Lance asked curiously, "What is it? Why all the mystery?"
"You'll know when you see it."
Cynthia kept them guessing.
God only knew how Cynthia had felt when she saw Milotic use Origin Pulse...

The beam of ice from Milotic's mouth struck its mark, but Snorlax merely shook itself. Its thick layer of fat left it barely feeling any pain.
Red's Snorlax didn't have the Ability Thick Fat, but it had the same effect anyway.
In fact, its fat was even more ridiculous than the Ability Thick Fat.
"Heavy Slam!"
Snorlax's seemingly clumsy body suddenly burst into motion with astonishing speed, charging straight at Milotic.
"Take Off!"
Milotic also displayed speed that belied its long, slender body, rapidly taking to the air to dodge Heavy Slam.
Heavy Slam was definitely just Red's way of getting Snorlax close.
Once Snorlax got close, Thunder Punch would inevitably follow.
"Use Surf!"
