On the beach at Kala'e Bay.
The afternoon sun warmed Kala'e Bay's soft, fine sand, while waves washed rhythmically against the shore.
Yet an unusual commotion shattered that tranquility.
For three days straight, Li Wei had heard Ash training with Rockruff on the beach.
"That's it, Rockruff!"
"Feel that unstoppable momentum! Gather all your strength together-Accelerock!"
Ash was down on all fours on the beach, his backside raised high as he imitated Rockruff,
doing his best to wiggle his hips, as though an invisible tail were really there to cheer him on...
Beside him, Rockruff copied his pose, raising its little backside and wagging its tail furiously as it stared intently at a reef rock ahead.
Li Wei took in this bizarre yet spirited scene from the balcony of the nearby Seaside Villa.
He was enjoying a brief break with a cup of coffee and nearly choked at the sight.
"Pfft... cough, cough."
"That's just like you, Ash!"
Li Wei shook his head with a helpless smile and remarked to Lucario beside him, "Ash's teaching methods really are..."
"Luca."
Lucario, however, indicated that this was nothing new.
After all, Li Wei's Dad taught the same way.
Lucario's reminder brought back memories of how his Dad had taught Marowak Dig...
His Dad had taken a shovel and dug alongside Marowak, nearly burying himself in the process...
I honestly have no words!
As for Ash's teaching methods,
they probably worked quite well,
but that pose really wasn't much to look at... He sipped his coffee and continued watching from the sidelines with interest.
Ash's lesson attracted quite a few spectators.
"Ash is amazing!"
"Can Ash use moves?"
