Inside the fossil revival facility, Li Wei rested his hands on the two Pokémon Eggs that had been revived from fossils.
They responded to his power with affection and dependence, as though recognizing the familiar power that had once awakened them from their long slumber.
"They're healthy, and they seem more energetic than ordinary Pokémon Eggs, especially this one."
Li Wei pointed to the egg whose black-and-white markings were slightly darker and whose signs of life were stronger. "Its consciousness is clearer, and it's more aware of the outside world."
Of course, although Li Wei could hear their voices and sense their consciousness, he couldn't be sure what species they were.
All he could say was that they were most likely Kubfu.
"It seems they have a special connection with you."
Cynthia smiled.
"Why don't you take care of them until they hatch? No one is better suited to it than you."
Normally, Li Wei wouldn't have wanted to look after Pokémon Eggs at this point.
He already had quite a lot of Pokémon, after all.
But this time, Li Wei didn't refuse.
Doctor Lin'en said with a smile,
"We've prepared Pokémon incubators."
Cynthia and Li Wei gently placed the two Pokémon Eggs into transparent, temperature-controlled Pokémon incubators.
Once the incubation temperature was set, the temperature inside would remain constant regardless of the conditions outside.
Li Wei's heart filled with anticipation.
It wasn't merely curiosity about the unknown Pokémon.
He also felt responsible for these two lives that had finally been reborn after such a long span of time.
Strictly speaking, he had saved them.
"Don't worry, little ones."
Li Wei spoke softly to the eggs in their incubators.
"Grow strong. Soon, you'll get to see this brand-new world with your own eyes."
