Lycanroc threw back his head and howled. He stomped hard, and countless sharp stone pillars burst through the damp soil, surging toward Tapu Bulu!

far surpassed his previous attempts in both power and control.
Ash's Lycanroc already knew Stone Edge, but it had never been this powerful before.
Tapu Bulu easily countered with Wood Hammer, but a satisfied expression appeared on its face.
Tapu Bulu gave a low growl and nodded.
That meant Ash and his Pokémon had earned its approval.
Their special training was over.
This trip had helped Rowlet learn Razor Leaf,
finally helped Lycanroc overcome his tendency to go berserk whenever his mane got dirty, and allowed Ash to grow as well.

You've powered up. Now get out there!
Ash clenched his fists. "Tapu Bulu, I'll definitely earn Mr. Nanu's approval and complete the Island Challenge!"

Li Wei turned to Lillie, Mallow, and the others beside him. "You should get some training in too. Training here will be much more effective, especially for Steenee."
As for Zeraora, Lucario, and the others,
they had started training the moment they felt Tapu Bulu's life energy.
Unfortunately, Tapu Bulu was Ula'ula Island's guardian. Otherwise, Li Wei really would have wanted to take it home...
If nothing else, training Grass-type moves here was incredibly fast.
If Shaymin hadn't already learned every Grass-type move, it probably could have learned some new ones here too.
Li Wei and the others decided to spend the afternoon at the Ruins of Abundance, so they naturally had to take care of lunch.
