And with Diancie switched out, Trick Room's effect had entered its final countdown.
"Contestant Ash has already lost two Pokémon!"
"Meanwhile, only Mr. Li Wei's Zeraora has run out of stamina! Ash is in a very difficult position!"
Announcer Miller had unconsciously started rooting for Ash, mainly because Li Wei's presence was simply too overwhelming.
"Trick Room is still active! Ash has to seize this last opportunity!"
Ash took a deep breath. He could feel the crushing pressure, but he had always been the sort to grow stronger under greater pressure.
"Melmetal, I choose you!"
The corners of Li Wei's mouth lifted slightly.
"A good choice, Ash."
Li Wei threw a Poké Ball as well.
"Go, Melmetal."
Another dull crash rang out.
Li Wei's Melmetal stood tall on the field as well.
Two nearly identical liquid-metal giants faced each other across the field. Even their sizes were similar, making them almost impossible to tell apart.
This was probably the closest matchup between their two teams.
Ash's Melmetal was at a slightly lower level.
"There they are! Both sides have sent out Melmetal! A head-on clash between heavyweight Mythical Pokémon!"
"In these final moments of Trick Room, this will be a contest of pure strength and stamina!"
"Melmetal, Double Iron Bash!"
Ash gave the first command.
Accelerated by Trick Room, Melmetal's massive body displayed a swiftness completely at odds with its size.
Its enormous hex-nut fists, wrapped in silvery-white Steel-type energy, came smashing down like two heavy hammers.
"We'll use Double Iron Bash too."
Li Wei's Melmetal refused to back down, swinging its own massive metal fists to meet the attack head-on.
Boom-
The four enormous metal fists collided violently in succession.
