The steaks everyone received went without saying.
The beef tasted fresh, Siebold had cooked it just right, and the red wine sauce he had prepared was wonderfully seasoned.
The medium-rare steaks still showed some of the meat's grain when cut.
Siebold waited for Li Wei to finish tasting his food. "How is it? Is there anything worth improving?"
Li Wei hadn't noticed anything so far.
Even if he had, he would have felt awkward saying so. After all, he was a guest, not a customer.
Still, drawing on the Old Master's usual approach, Li Wei ventured a few suggestions.
Finally, he added, "These are actually things my grandfather usually tells me."
