After Li Wei, Cynthia, and the others left Mirror Lake Island, another visitor arrived.
It was Masaki Sonezaki, dressed in a sharp suit, with a head of emerald-green curls.
Lance was not surprised by his arrival.
"Where's Dragonite? Where is he? Hurry, let me see him!"
Bill nearly pressed his face right up against Lance's.
Fortunately, Lance reacted quickly enough to prevent that disaster.
Although Lance still had no girlfriend, he was perfectly straight.
He simply felt that, given his current lifestyle, getting a girlfriend would be unfair to her.
Lance planted a hand on Bill's face and pushed him away, but Bill refused to give up.
Even with his face completely squashed, he could not bear to move any farther from Lance.
Left with no choice, Lance looked at Blue and sighed. "Give me a hand pulling him away."
Blue was the one who had brought Bill here.
Had it been anyone else, Lance would have punched him already.
But Bill was a professor, a scholar. Besides, this was just another expression of his love for Pokémon.
Lance respected him quite a bit.
He also admired the decade-plus of tireless research Bill had conducted at Bill's Lighthouse.
Blue shrugged, looking thoroughly entertained. "You'll have to handle this yourself."
Lance roared, "Then you shouldn't have brought him here in the first place!"
Lance said helplessly, "You can't see Dragonite right now. He's sleeping."
Only then did Bill notice the Dragonite standing nearby, holding an enormous Heavy Ball.
Bill could listen to reason, too.
"That's fine. As long as I can see him later."
In a flash, Bill appeared in front of Dragonite, his face almost pressed against the Heavy Ball.
"Is this the Poké Ball holding Dragonite? It's huge!"
