After arriving safely in Vermilion City, Li Wei headed straight for the Pokémon Center, where he would meet up with Ash and Brock.
Enjoying the sea breeze on his way through Vermilion City was a pleasant experience.
Li Wei contacted Lt. Surge in the Chat Group, but unfortunately, he was not at the Vermilion Gym.
Lt. Surge: "I'm sailing the S.S. Aqua to Olivine City. I'm on the way now."
The S.S. Aqua most often sailed between Olivine City and Vermilion Harbor, and Lt. Surge frequently served as its captain.
Li Wei: "That's a shame. I was going to borrow the kitchen at your Vermilion Gym."
Lt. Surge: "Now I want to turn the ship around."

The Pokémon herbal medicine shop in Olivine City needed regular deliveries of medicinal herbs, and Lt. Surge had taken on the job.
Akin: "Wait for me! I'll head to Vermilion City right now!"
Whitney: "Me too!"
Li Wei: "Wake up, you two. I've decided not to go."

Li Wei: "We're only staying in Vermilion City for one night. We're leaving tomorrow morning."

Diancie skipped along after him.
Passersby smiled knowingly at the shadows stretched out beneath the streetlights and Diancie glittering in their glow.
