June 6, Windswept City.
The Wind Festival celebrations were in full swing.
Yellow was still the brightest star of the show.
As if reeling in Pokémon one after another at the Fishing Contest weren't enough,
Machamp, Heracross, Togepi, Totodile, and other Pokémon were behind her, cheering her on.
Blue fanned herself listlessly at her stall.
"I'm so bored..."
Not far from Blue, another mobile stall was packed with customers...
"Here's your Lum Berry juice!"
"Here's your Lum Berry ice cream!"
Even while they were busy, the trio found time to whisper among themselves.
Jessie muttered, "If we keep this up, when are we going to have time to catch that twerp's Pikachu?"
Meowth spread his arms dramatically. "No rush. We'll use the money we earn to build a gigantic robot, then catch all the Pokémon in one fell swoop, meow."
Jessie added, "But that twerp has Lorelei of the Elite Four with him. That Li Wei guy's disappeared for some reason, though. Whatever!"
After discovering that Li Wei had the incredibly rare Diancie and Shaymin, the trio of true protagonists had tried to make a move.
But Matori had caught them and sternly warned them that he was a young man Giovanni had his eye on, and they were not to touch him.
If Giovanni had said that himself, Jessie and the others certainly would have listened.
Unfortunately, it had come from Matori, so Jessie would only assume that Watermelon-Peel Glasses Girl was passing off fake orders.
James nodded. "That little blonde girl has caught quite a few valuable Water-type Pokémon..."
Meowth's eyes had turned entirely into gold coins.
"Then we'll hand them over to Giovanni and get rich and promoted, meow!"
What followed was another utterly absurd Giovanni fantasy.
"What a wonderful feeling!"
"Wobbuffet!"
"Don't come out!"
