July 1, Eterna City.
Eterna City was a city with a long history.
Otherwise, it would not have had so many historical ruins, or the Eterna City History Museum dedicated to displaying them.
When it came to towns and cities in the Sinnoh Region, though, those without ruins were actually in the minority.
In the eastern suburbs of Eterna City stood a rather strange-looking Ancient Pokémon Statue.
It looked strange because the statue resembled both Dialga and Palkia.
But if Li Wei were asked, he would have said it clearly looked more like Dialga.
Not Dialga in its usual form, however, but Dialga in its Origin Forme.
Perhaps whoever had built the statue back then
had seen Dialga in its Origin Forme, or perhaps Dialga gradually transforming out of that form.
Li Wei suspected that Dialga's transition from its Origin Forme to its present form must have been a process.
Surely it had not simply woken up one day looking completely different, as though it had undergone surgery.
Returning to the statue that resembled Origin Forme Dialga,
Eterna City had once held many festivals and events centered around it.

Perhaps a new generation had simply replaced the old.
The festivals and their associated culture were now gradually disappearing from Eterna City.
Now, the statue merely stood on a small hill in Eterna City's eastern suburbs, while a new city center had been established elsewhere.
Although Li Wei's cousin Vera and the museum staff had put considerable effort into changing that, their efforts had still come to nothing.
The reason was simple: Dialga and Palkia had not appeared before the public for a very long time.
That very long time was over a hundred years.
So long that some people now even asked whether Legendary Pokémon like Dialga
