Alamos Town.
Before Li Wei and the others evacuated to Gaudí's Courtyard,
the peaceful town on the Southwestern Plateau was shrouded in an invisible gloom, its festive atmosphere gone.
That afternoon in Alamos Town, the once-clear sky began changing at an unnatural speed.
The gentle breeze stopped without warning.
Then a massive bank of dark clouds surged out from behind the soaring twin towers of the Time Tower.
Within those deep, lead-gray clouds, dark energy seemed to churn and roil.
They spread at an astonishing speed, devouring the blue sky almost in the blink of an eye and rapidly covering all of Alamos Town.
With the sunlight almost entirely blocked out, the town was instantly plunged into an eerie gloom.
The light became utterly strange-not the darkness of night, but an unsettling, pallid gray.
At the same time, a ring of white fog enveloped the entire town.
Viewed on a satellite map, Alamos Town would have seemed to vanish from the face of Sinnoh.
"Could this really be because of Darkrai?"
Inside the Pokémon Center, frightened residents whispered among themselves, discussing the endless string of strange events.
Because of the changing conditions, Li Wei and Steven had moved their meeting to the Pokémon Center.
Just as Li Wei had guessed, the town mayor hadn't accepted Steven's proposal to evacuate.
That was understandable. Until then, Alamos Town had seemed perfectly sunny, with only occasional energy fluctuations that didn't amount to much.
Li Wei and Nurse Joy were helping examine the Pokémon.
"Nurse Joy, could you give me a checkup too?"
This time, Brock wasn't sexually harassing her. He really had seen all sorts of bizarre sights.
Nurse Joy reassured him, "There's nothing wrong with you."
After all, everyone could see those sights.
Even Zeraora and Lucario had been startled at first.
