The afternoon sun shone brightly over the park.
Most visitors who had spent half the day enjoying themselves wore tired but satisfied smiles, and the park was still bustling.
Just then, a streamlined blue figure appeared in the distant sky, moving at incredible speed.
In almost the blink of an eye, it flew from a tiny speck to directly above the park, gracefully descending.
Sharp-eyed visitors and park staff were the first to notice it.
"Look! What's that in the sky?"
"It's so fast! Is it some kind of Pokémon?"
"That color and build...
could it be Latios?!"
Thanks to the Lily of the Valley Conference,
Latios had quickly become famous.
Some sharp-eyed visitors had already spotted Zeraora on Latios's back. "Isn't that Zeraora?"
"Wait, why is Zeraora riding on its back?!"
"Could it be..."
"Did Li Wei catch Latios?"
Before the exclamations died down, another red figure appeared, moving with the same graceful swiftness.
The red and blue figures circled side by side, their speed stirring a faint whisper of wind,
tracing two beautiful arcs above the park.
"There are two of them! Latias and Latios!
Are they the legendary guardians of Alto Mare?"
"What are they doing here?!"
And on Latias's back
were Lucario and Diancie.
Bathed in sunlight, Diancie sparkled brilliantly in the sky.
"From the looks of it, he really did catch them..."
"Maybe... probably... he caught them?"
As the crowd stirred over these unexpected visitors, Metagross sped toward them from afar.
But when it came to flying speed, Metagross was far slower than Latios and Latias.
Li Wei said helplessly, "I told you to wait for me."
Things had been fine at first, but with Shaymin egging them on, Latios and Latias had picked up speed.
They had
