Dawn and Iris faced off in a Dragonite-versus-Dragonite showdown for a place in the semifinals.
In the end, Iris, who was more skilled at battling, won.
The final four were Iris, Ash, Korrina, and Trip, split between the two halves of the bracket.
Trip had been brimming with confidence, determined to fight his way out of his half and claim the championship...
But he had underestimated Korrina far too much.
Korrina's Kommo-o, Mega Gallade, and Lucario won in overwhelming fashion.
The final pitted Ash, who had defeated Iris, against Korrina.
If Ash had used his main roster, he could have put up a fight against Korrina.
But Ash insisted on sending out Krookodile, Pikachu, and Pignite...
Everyone knew Pikachu always put on an award-winning performance in tournaments like these.
After four days of competition, Korrina claimed the championship without any suspense.
"There we have it! The champion of the Pokémon World Championships Junior Cup-Korrina!"
As the winner, Korrina had the right to challenge Champion Alder.
But at Li Wei's request, Korrina chose not to challenge him.
That decision had always been up to the contestant.
The spectators merely felt it was a shame.
Korrina actually wasn't going to challenge Alder.
