Li Wei remembered that a barrier prevented Victini from leaving the area around Sword of the Vale Castle.
That area was much smaller than Mew's Tree of Creation.
It encompassed only Sword of the Vale Castle and Eindoak Town, where they stood now.
In other words, Victini had been trapped here for a thousand years.
Berries tasted good, but their flavors lacked variety, and some were bitter or tart.
They were refreshing when eaten occasionally.
But they couldn't offer the variety of flavors that Pokéblocks and Poffins did, or balance out those bitter and tart tastes.
And that was how Zeraora had lured Victini over.
Though Zeraora refused to call it a trick.
That was called affection!
Zeraora had always liked looking after other Pokémon, a habit it had developed on Windswept City's Back Mountain.
Although Victini had come over while invisible, its aura couldn't escape Li Wei or Lucario's notice.
Relying on its ability to turn invisible,
and Zeraora's affection, Victini had ridden over on Zeraora's shoulder.
Ash's aura made Victini feel comfortable and drawn to him,
