Li Wei, Cynthia, and the others had already learned from Town Mayor Momondo and Janta, two descendants of the People of the Land,
how present-day Eindoak Town had come to be.
They had traveled here from the Land of the Earth aboard Sword of the Vale Castle, through the power of the king and Victini.
When Ash and Iris heard this story, their first reaction was not excitement at Victini's power.
Instead, they looked at Victini, who was having a wonderful time playing with Pikachu, Shaymin, Diancie, and Meloetta,
with a little more sadness in their eyes.
For over a thousand years, the barrier had confined Victini to the area around Eindoak Town.
Victini wanted to see the sea. That was the wish Victini had shared with Ash earlier.
Ash had already promised Victini
that he would take Victini to see the sea!
Although Ash's promises could be a little hit-or-miss...
Pidgeot certainly had something to say about that.
Considering that Ash had already brought Pidgeot back,
Li Wei would refrain from giving him too much grief.
It was quite a long story,

Li Wei, Cynthia, and the others said goodbye to Town Mayor Momondo and headed back to the Pokémon Center.
Originally, barring any surprises,
Li Wei had intended to leave right away.
But he also wanted to help Victini deal with the barrier, and that might take some time.
Since the barrier had been erected, it could naturally be dismantled.
They just had to avoid moving Sword of the Vale Castle.
That way, Victini would no longer be bound by the castle's barrier and could play freely.
