• Chu Qingjiu entered the Xu Family mansion with Qi Wu and the other players, then discovered that the spirit tablets in the rear courtyard bore the players’ names.
• Chu Qingjiu found Xu Zhijie possessed by Lin Xueru and reclaimed his Puppet Threads from Xu Zhicheng, who explained that the Red-Robed Vengeful Ghost wanted Wang Peiling’s soul.
• At the Seventh-Day Rite banquet, the players ate ghost offerings, and a Ghost Courtesan possessed Chu Qingjiu before he destroyed her with his Puppet Threads and took Qi Wu’s blood to ease his pain.
• A Vengeful Ghost killed Liu Peng and Wang Hao, while Chu Qingjiu and Qi Wu dug up the corpse beneath the banyan tree and entered Ghost City with the Red-Robed Vengeful Ghost.

• Chu Qingjiu returned to his home, discovered its utilities had been cut off, and accepted Qi Wu’s invitation to stay with his organization.
• Qi Wu cared for Chu Qingjiu, and after Chu Qingjiu saw him cry, Chu Qingjiu agreed to try a relationship while hiding that he was the Puppeteer.
• Chu Qingjiu and Qi Wu entered the Heart-Losing Gu instance, where Chu Qingjiu chose A Xue and learned the players had to find the antidote or kill the Gu Ghost Woman.

Chu Qingjiu and Qi Wu entered Happy Community to investigate its deaths and the Dream Ghost, while strange forces began turning the residents and players against one another. Their relationship survived a crisis of distrust, but the instance’s threats continued to spread as a human-headed spider appeared over Zhang Shan.

• Chu Qingjiu and Qi Wu entered Happy Community with six other players, where Chu Qingjiu investigated the complex’s deadly feng shui and learned of its troubled residents.
• Chu Qingjiu uncovered Li Zihao’s connection to Chu Zhi and investigated recurring nightmares, but the Dream Ghost killed Yu Nian and then attacked Chu Qingjiu and Qi Wu through duplicates.
• Chu Qingjiu recognized and killed the fake Qi Wu, but Qi Wu’s sudden murderous impulse damaged their trust as a figure predicted they would turn against each other.
• Chu Qingjiu investigated Li Zihao and Auntie Wang, then discovered that a blood-red, many-eyed creature ate corpses left outside residents’ doors.
• Wu Zhong contracted spreading eyes and passed them to Zhang Shan, while Chu Qingjiu used a paper figure to draw the infestation away and suffered a backlash.

Chu Qingjiu uncovered Happy Community’s buried misery and escaped the dungeon, while Qi Wu completed his hundredth instance and died after delivering the soldiers’ corpses. The Person in Charge revealed Chu Qingjiu had killed Qi Wu, but Qi Wu chose to remain with him, and the arc ended with memories of their childhoods and the old man who raised Chu Qingjiu.

• Chu Qingjiu exposed Happy Community as a dream sustained by its residents’ hopes and resentment, completing the mission and leaving with his final Soul Puppet Thread.
• Chu Qingjiu accepted the Person in Charge’s offer to bring Qi Wu to him, while Qi Wu completed six months of instances and entered the Corpse Driver dungeon as his hundredth.
