The voice was neither eerie nor cold. Beyond its deep resonance, it held nothing but naked evil.
Like a call from hell.
Meng Le broke out in a cold sweat and bolted upright in bed.
Just then, an urgent pounding suddenly came at the door, giving Meng Le a terrible fright.
She heard Ju Lei's voice outside.
"Open up, Meng Le! Did you have that dream too? I've figured it out! I've figured out the truth! Could you open the door?"
Ju Lei had said "too."
Had he also dreamed of going to that strange room on the second floor?
Frightened, Meng Le instinctively wanted to get out of bed and discuss what to do with him.
But then she remembered that she hadn't locked the door when she'd come back to sleep that evening.

Yet the "Ju Lei" outside was acting as though the lock had been welded shut.
Something was wrong.
Meng Le drew her legs back and hugged herself on the bed. No multiple-choice question appeared, because she wasn't torn. She had already decided-whether the person outside was the real Ju Lei or an impostor, she wouldn't go out before dawn.
She stayed awake until daybreak.
Sure enough, it hadn't been the real Ju Lei outside. When the three of them talked the next day, Ju Lei said he would never leave his room at night.
That day, Zhang Yun took them to the lakeside again, clapping her hands cheerfully. "Let's learn a song today! It's a folk song unique to Talles. Come on, sing along with me!"
