The castle stood silently in the wilderness.
Outside, the sky was a heavy, leaden gray. The wind was cold, stinging faintly as it swept across their faces.
Wei Yanchi and Zhang Ninde searched the abandoned castle, but found nothing particularly noteworthy. The scattered clues were not enough to piece together the full story.
They found a newspaper from Year 1739 in the castle owner's room, but it was badly damaged. The print had long since blurred beyond recognition.
They could not linger here, either.
Before the sky went completely dark, Wei Yanchi and Zhang Ninde had to return to the village.
Zhang Ninde was not a player selected by the Instance, but for people like them, entering an Instance was like venturing into the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. The Instance was right there, out in the open. Anyone who wanted to enter could do so, and the Instance welcomed them-there was just a little danger involved.
Wei Yanchi, on the other hand, was a selected player and had no choice but to enter. Still, he seemed to be enjoying himself.
Zhang Ninde had entered this Instance for two reasons. First, he wanted to investigate the matter of the NPCs. Second, the system had announced in advance that this Instance was rated SS. The difficulty was too high, and he needed to keep Wei Yanchi in check, lest he get too cocky. Things could easily go horribly wrong here!
