Xie De walked alone down the hotel corridor. Not far behind him, Beiwei followed cautiously, hiding behind structural features and decorations with only her head poking out.
After Beiwei finished describing the supernatural incidents she had encountered, the two men she had met immediately offered to help her.
Beiwei was puzzled. Torn between believing them and doubting them, she reluctantly chose to trust them. She had thought both men would help her, but the moment Wei Yanchi entered the hotel, he said, "See you later," turned away, and disappeared.
Beiwei asked cautiously, "What did he go to do?"
The aloof-looking gentleman ahead of her answered, "He went to wake someone up."
"Wake someone up? That doesn't sound like you mean it literally."
"You'll find out later." Walking ahead, Xie De turned his head slightly and asked, "Did you encounter the ghost up ahead?"
"Yes. It was terrifying. Please be careful."
They reached the lobby, where an elevator stood before them. It was painted red, making for a striking sight.
Beiwei frowned and studied it closely.
Then, in the next second-
Beiwei turned and ran, fast.
In her eyes, vast quantities of blood poured through the gap in the elevator doors like a gushing red river. The metallic stench of blood filled the air. That red torrent swept away everything and rushed straight toward her.
She fled blindly for a few steps, then seemed to realize something and hurriedly looked back.
But when she turned around, the red river had vanished. In its place was black mist that blotted out the sky, with a tall figure dimly visible within it.
The silver-haired gentleman stood beside the tall figure and lit a cigarette. They seemed to be talking, and the terrifying black mist enveloped the silver-haired gentleman as well.
